Another fun race. Got shuffled out a bit at the start by the slower starting P1 and went from 2nd to 3rd then eventually passed by Pedro for 4th. After a couple of laps I looked down the timing screens to find the next GT1 guy who it turned out was 34 seconds behind so knew that it was going to be a battle for the top 4 until something happened to Conor and Pedro which left me second.
Had quite a few self spins which didnt help my cause trying to stay near Tristan who I wasnt losing copious amounts of time to but due to my errors it came across as a two lap deficit. Had one punt which was Rogier at the chicane, tried to cut back and got it slightly wrong, sorry about that. Lost time on the leader there then tried to get past Peter into the chicane, locked up and spun going into the corner, kore time lost. Spun entering pit lane one lap and realised I was going to have to make an extra pit stop as I hadnt put enough fuel in to start with and had 2 spins at the top of the hill at the entrance to the esses which didnt help my cause.
Quite a fun race passing people but a bit dissapointing knowing I wasnt 2 laps slower than Tristan on this occasion but thats how it ended up.

Quite amazed to get 2nd considering I could only manage mid field lap times. In the same way I managed to dominate the 2nd race of the Meganes last week, Phillip went out and shot off into the distance. Went off at Kemmel after braking too late and came back on after everyone had gone past. Thought it would be tough to get a good result back but being able to be flat out through Eau Rouge where others couldnt really helped and I manged to get back up to second. Realised once I got there there was no chance of catching Phil who after 20 minutes was about 30 seconds up the road so just drove round.
Eventually got caught by James in the Lipton Iced tea special and looked like being a promising battle, even turned boost to 1 to try and stay in front but unfortunately his fuel didnt last till to the finish so managed to cruise home second.
In truth I had 3 self spins, 1 total off and a drive thru penalty for speeding in pit lane but I dont think not having any of these things would have made any difference to the time between me and Phil who wrapped up the championship in style, mainly by finishing in a totally different post code to the rest of us. Congrats.

Main aim for the race was to secure the championship. Qualified 4th which was really where I could have afforded to finish, one place behind Gabor and 2 in front of Paul was what I needed.
Didnt start off too quick and settled down in 4th before finding a way past Gabor and then just went about setting some consistent laps rather than setting off fter the leaders. Think Paul spun and that put me up to the bumper so had a go at getting past and a few laps later I managed it. Same thing happened again with Caner and just before the pit stops was within about 2 seconds.
Pitted and put hards on the rear as mediums had pretty much had it so wanted to be safe at the end. Stayed reasonably close to Caner for most of the last stint (survived a close call with Rogier, didnt half scare me that) then gradually fell away back to about 4 seconds back but wasnt overly concerned, was going to win the championship where I was. Came down to about the last 10 minutes and I was gradually reeling in the time gap so pushed a little harder see if I could get up there and for the last few laps was quite close. Had a look up the inside on the last lap pneultimate corner but Caner held on round the outside and had a better line down the straight so I'd got no chance at the end.
Was a good win Caner and am pleased on my championship. Congrats other winners.

Made a subtle setup change for this race and managed to smash the pole time by half a second on my race set. Passed quite a few people up to Les Combes again then set about getting up to Phil who was fast in the first race. Caugth up and got past after Phil outbraked himself at the Bus Stop. Made a small gap then just concentrated on not spinning rather than opening the gap up too much and then ame across the line to win.
Quite happy with the championship although out of the two MDB series this is the one I didnt think I would win considering the first round results at Sebring so quite a nice surprise.
