Totally threw that away. Had championship in the bag up until 7 laps to go when pushing to try and close the gap, caught way too much kerb on the inside of the chicane and spun me round into the barrier, one rear wing gone, one championship gone.

After stating 'I dont need to do anything stupid here' tried to hold onto the lead round the outside of turn 1 lap 2 and understeered off into the stick gravel. Eventually got out in 13th and set about fighting back through the field to end up with 5th. Not really the scare I needed to wrap up the championship but oh well.

Meh clipped a rock which pinballed me into a cliff, killing my engine and knocking the wheel off. It even bent the speedometer on the cockpit view.

Ah well, did my best to try and win the championship and barring a missed event and Tristan Bayliss miracle drive, couldnt really do much more. To be fair, I must have won about 3 championships from Ryan Von Steinen by being consistently good when he'd missed a race so probably about time it worked against me.
Still, a good race for me, car felt really balanced and I could attack well with my race set, managing a lap that would have put me on pole in Qual on laps 3 and 4. Was fairly cautious around traffic today so lost a bit of time here and there but overall made up alot elsewhere.
Congrats to the champions in both class and teams. Has been a good season.

Cheers guys, probably not going to be able to make the next race so looks like BVR for the team title.
Only came into this rce looking for two points to clinch the drivers championship but despite practicing for longer than most races I do, could not really get the car to hook up at all and as such, qualified 8th in class. Knew I needed 9th to get the 2 points but was obviously going to try a bit harder than that. Managed to work my way up the order to 2nd in class before the pit stops and ran slightly longer than the guys behind me so gained helpful seconds on them to at least secure 2nd. Put in enough fuel at the stop to be able to run boost 4 for the rest of the race and came round one lap to see Samet (who had at one point been about 30 seconds up the road) sat in the pits. Once he left though I only had a 7 second lead which, judging by Samets earlier pace, would disappear by the end of the race.
Set about trying to stay in front with full boost on but Samet was closing and had the gap down to about 1.5 seconds with 15 minutes left when we came across an incident in the last chicane which I sneaked through but took Samet out of the running. Turned the boost down and coasted round to the end, only turning it back up for the last few minutes to make sure I didn't get lapped.
Well chuffed with this one, not only clinched the championship but who qualifies 8th with there fastest lap and thinks they will win?
Congrats to Tristan with the win and drivers championship for LMP1.
