Quite possibly my best race ever at Mosport (this track hates me) Ran well early on and moved up to 1st when Matt span but then starting making errors. Went wide out of turn 3 and was lucky not to spin but that put Boyd past. Eventually caught back up again and made a great pass into turn 1, going 3 wide out of the final corner and narrowly missing a car facing the wrong way.

Managed to make a little bit of a gap but then coming up to lap Daniel with about 55 mins to go, I spun on the last corner sweeping across to the left to try and get a better line onto the front stretch but put a wheel on the grass. Thought I'd got away with it by sliding sideways into the wall but the impact slid me back into the end of the tyre wall that sticks out and damaged the rear. Luckily this was just before the pit exit so made a quick dive into the pits for repairs.

Topped the tanks and took new hards but,crucially, at the same time Boyd pitted. We exited the pits almost together and spent the remainder of the race fighting back through the field. I knew Frans and Boyd were fighting for the championship so was a little bit more cautious to make sure I left enough room in any manoeuvre but at the same time, needed to be in front if we were going to have any chance of the team title. Unfortunately this didnt pay off for me on one attempt to get past at turn 2 where, trying to leave enough space on the outside for Boyd, I clipped the apron which put me into a spin (and just in front of my team leader :-)woops) and went off sideways into the wall. This time, it was just side damage and I was able to continue without any handling issues.

With traffic and other incidents, I was within about 5 seconds of Boyd and knew that with 15 mins to go, I would have enough fuel to run full boost until the end. I started closing the gap and had one attempt at the end of the backstretch where I think we touched slightly. Coming round with two laps to go, we hit some back markers at the same corner, Boyd braked on the inside line so I kept my foot in and went round the outside and just held it. I was then able to hold this to the end to give us a UK-NL 1-2 which I think is what we were aiming for. Disappointed to have chucked the lead away early on as I have never won here before but glad to be able to get back to 2nd in what was definitely my most enjoyable race here.

Made a great start and had the lead into turns 1 and 2 from 4th on the grid. Dropped to 2nd going down to turn 3 but got tapped off across the gravel into the wall. Fair play, shit happens, just disappointing driving this track for 59.5 minutes with a car that wouldn't turn right too well.

Eventually managed to work my way back up to 2nd but once Joao caught me up, he passed pretty quickly and pulled away as I couldn't even stay with him in the draft. Was minding my own business from then on and unfortunately went off just coming onto the long straight when my car didn't go right. Received some red damage in the contact with the wall so pitted which made it slightly more drivable till the end.

Turned out to be quite a battle at the front. Missed pole by not very much and at the start, me and Keith managed to open a small gap. Started pushing Keith a little down the straights to try and open a bigger gap to 3rd and didn't attack too much during the opening stint.

Once we had a reasonable gap, I started trying to make some moves, however, couldn't find a way past easily and wouldn't have been able to pull away so decided to stick behind and look busy. Knew from the fast right handers Keiths tyres might have been going off a little towards the end as I was quicker through the long right at the end of the straight and up the hill.

Tried to get past going into turn 1 with two laps to go but went wide and had to make up some ground but caught back up into the final corners on the last lap. Managed to cut inside on the second to last corner and just had enough through the final corner to win. Not bad for leading 2 corners all race :-)

Well, that was disappointing. Spun in qualifying which left me with no time in qualifying, then made my way back through the field to catch up with Ross who I needed to finish in front of the make up ground in the championship. Ross was quicker in a straight line so figured I would save tyres and risk not taking new ones at the pit stop which worked well and I finished second before the goal post moved.

In future, any events that are set to run longer, I presume we will just be racing to what time the race normally runs to?
