Race report
V8Factor @ Mid Ohio on Feb 27, 2008
Car: Holden Commodore. Class: V8. Start: 3. Finish: 4. Laps: 25.
Lap 3: Bas lining up the first of many outside passes on Lok Man into the left hairpin. Followed by Magnus and Alex.

That was it. That was my podium chance in R2P and I blew it. I qualified OK, and generally felt comfortable around the track in the V8s. Got a good start, passed Magnus and figured that I could brake really deep after the back straight and pass people there. Unfortunately, Bas had other ideas and kept repassing me in the hairpin after, where I just couldn't get around quickly. I think I passed Bas about 10 times and got repassed 9 times ...

Then on lap 10 or so I actually got passed and stayed in front for a lap, and then he passed me at the same spot, after running side by side for 6 turns. That was fun. On the next lap I tapped him in the second last turn, he kept going, and I spun and dropped to 4th. Chance to win - gone.

Passed Magnus again after David got passed him. Set off after David and got close, then Kory appeared to be lapped. I think I had brain fade for a while because I just floored the accelerator coming out of the last turn and spun, breaking off my front splitter. Podium - gone. After that it was just a mission to bring it home, sorry to Kory for driving like a (slow) maniac in front of you from then on!

Congratulation to Bas and the podium.

So that was my most fun, but one of the more unsatisfying races here at R2P. I hope that the RF V8s turn up again on the calender, with RealFeel / LeoFFB I find them much more driveable than previously. And they sound good.
