That's me in a lonely chase up the field, following a Stop and Go for a false start. Nevertheless, enjoyed the chase, result not too bad (P14) having been P21 with 12 laps left and a shed load of time to catch up!!
Debuted the new livery here, but also some sparks flying (literally on track) as my front end was quite low. At one point Greg Ulmer commented on Teamspeak that I was lit up like a Xmas tree as he followed me around for a few laps!!
Lap 8 and Mario has landed on the concrete wall virtually flattening his roof! I head for apron (no.32) to avoid the carnage but teammate Virt slides into me damaging front right. Davis spins backwards. You alive Mario?!!
Gorgiev leads from Pole into T1 La Source hairpin. P2 Keanie is closely followed by Graydon, Fairley and Watson. Junior (seen behind/under Gorgiev) and Lira on the outside.
Battle for P3 to P6 continues through Eau Rouge and heading through Radaillon right kink onto Kemmel straight. Spray kicks up from the wet track, making it doubly difficult to see the car in front and your brake markers.
The left/right 'kink' on the main straight claimed a few drivers. Here, I'm so close you couldn't put a cigarette packet in the gap to the wall - all at 132 mph. EXHILERATING!
About to be lapped vs lead lap vs 2 laps down! Neil Gault (Porsche 911) in P5 locks up and taps Graydon (P8) as he's about to lap him, Lorente (a lap further down) tries to see through the smoke screen!
Big chase down of Bob Fay in P1 for 46 laps, and last 20 laps of trying to get by! Here is the closest I got with 8 to go, but Bob drove it perfect for those last 20 laps and I never really had a decent chance of a pass.
Lap 11/12 - the chicane after Casino Straight - right /left - hitting the kerbing HARD the left side goes airborne, as the battle for P1 really starts to come alive!
OPPOSITE LOCK! This is into dipping T2 left hander, Neil Larson having just tapped my rear left. Just managed to save it and avoid Razvan in the Volvo. Mayhem also on the outside of T2! Hectic racing for sure!
Plenty of concrete walls at Bathurst. Here, it's "Millimetre perfect"! Pushing hard to open a gap to Bryce Aston behind. Sulman Park, on the run up to Skyline. 110 mph, P3, lap 2.
V8 Muscle cars. Mid Ohio and it's dips and turns and blind bends. Trying to go fast. Taking too much kerb.... Calculate...grip, does not compute! Outcome...90 degrees to the track - get my "drift"?!?!
Cool Retro class, we have Mini Cooper S's; Volvo Amazon's and BMW 2002's. Here at the start, Mini's are hounded by faster starting rear-wheel drive cars.
I shit myself! Rob Thaeler gets a run in the Charger on Graydon's Challenger exiting T1 lap 4. Heading for T2, Zakir (bottom right) has been off track and rejoins and we JUST manage to avoid as we inch to the left in unison! Great racing moment.
