Early laps, battle for P3 and P4 was between Graydon (28) and Almeida. Derekis and Resende were slowly pulling away up front, so I simply tried to run a fast and consistent pace.

Race 2 reverse grid entering T2 and the field is packed already. Gothenburg track is in the middle of the working Port area, surrounded by nasty armco barriers, water, boats and cranes!

Lap 55 (last lap on the Green/White/Checker 2 lap dash to the finish) and heading for T2 it's almost 3 abreast going for the win, with Graydon getting better momentum out of T1 and putting his car right in the middle at 185 mph - great close racing!

Lap 39, Alvarez chasing me down on fresher tyres for P2. I knew I had to keep him behind as long as possible! Here, exiting last turn at 127 mph, as close as possible to those pit entry markers!

100 laps (150 miles) of this 1.5 mile oval, Charlotte is a tough track with some mighty bumps in those turns! All drivers did a great job in ensuring those Caution lights never came on! Yes, green flag running from beginning to end!

UKNL boss Pol (GT2) is passed by Phoenix Racing boss Graydon (P2)...rumours that I was throwing things at him as I went by are totally unfounded!

Lap 38 - the first pitstops approach, under green! Lead group of Fay (32) and Graydon (46) get their entry spot on, Jackson (93) locks up and goes head-on into the retaining wall. DiPino (34) bails out after locking up, deciding to go around again!

SMACK! Hitting that serrated inner kerbing (at the chicane) too hard launches the car onto 2 wheels, luckily still pointing in the right direction for the left hand part ahead!

Enjoying a slight speed advantage down the pit straight, under braking Andy Graydon manages to get inside David Carney into the T1 kink. Some great racing up to this point with David:)

P5, warm up lap, 2 turns to go to race start - then a freeze (pretty sure internet related). I return to track in an instant and drop right in front of Rob Thaeler! Broken wing for Rob, engine cover gone and 40 seconds of damage repair for me.

Turn 1 mayhem, as cars and cones fly everywhere! Top 3 of Savoie, Spirichev and Bakus get away unscathed (although Bakus has opposite lock on here).

A damp start got wetter for the first 20 laps. Inters seemed the right choice. Very tricky conditions and ran P2 until tyre choice woes after first stop on lap 21!

1 of 2. The end is near! 12 laps in and a failing engine finally says "enough is enough". Not sure why the powerplant blew - no temperature issues. Lap 6 it started losing power and emitting a trail at top speed (around 15 minutes into the race).
