Thanks Mario,

I would love to let you all in on the secret to my success but the only thing that I have been doing differently is practicing. You know what they say about practice....

Ray, I found out a while back that the estimated laps thing doesn't work so well.
I use Motec to find my actual fuel usage and even then I run more fuel than I need to.

I thought you would have the pole on this one Ray. I just couldn't find the times that I was running in practice. I know how you feel about blowing the start. I had my share of that lately.

Thanks to everyone for coming out and sticking with this series.
Thanks to Eduardo and the IMSS for hosting the series, and thanks to NEWFM for the team support.

Looking forward to Mid Ohio, cyas there!

If I have to find a good thing about Ed closing IMSS, undoubtly it is I probably won't be racing this track for a while, not at least season and season again! I don't like it and it doesn't like me, so we have a good relation as long as long as we stay away from each other. (8 races, 6th as best place)

After Q I was a bit more confident as I beated my PB by more than a second, but in race I didn't have much.

Great first 25 minutes, though, trying to keep Garry and Andy behind me. Lots of close and side-by-side action, but they were faster... The rest of the race was just driving against the track for me.

And not only the last race of the season, but from the full chapter (for me and Race07) Never thought this day would come, I just assumed IMSS would always be there to mark my most important championship of the season, so it's really a great lose for me. 6 seasons, 5 championships, 5 podiums, 1 victory, (and 3 unofficial wins!), a sub-championship, 2 team championships, a bunch of pictures and the most important: an unmeasurable quantity of fun.
For all this: the pleasure, the privilege is mine.

Congrats to the podiums, and see you around (that includes you, Ed!)

What a race to finish this series! 100 min and never had a single second to relax. Early laps got some close fight with Neil, hard to keep those Seat's. Later had de Verigo Army behind, incredible fight with Andy for almost 50 min including a thrilling side by side pit stop exit. Two laps to go and I made a stupid mistake, at main straight accidentaly pressed the neutral button so I notice a power loss, but when I realise what was going on it was too late, and first gear entrered instead of 6th, so I made the normal spin giving one pos to Garry...you owe me one!!. That was a bitter end for me; as we were three cars in just one sec.
Really enjoyed all the fierce and fair fights I was involved.
Thx all...and Ed again.

Little time to practice until right before the race, so went with my Okayama set up. Nice and consistent it was, fast in a straight line - it wasn't!

Qualified P9 of 10 in class, but 1 stop strategy on the cards so still confident of making headway.

Early race was being involved in a long battle with Alberto and Garry. Or maybe I should say watching Garry try time and again to get by Alberto, just waiting for my own chance of a sniff of a pass. Eventually it came - after around 25 minutes! Exiting T8 I had a very strong 5th gear and line and when Garry and Alberto were side by side and a slight touch occured, I kept it to the right and got by Garry. Had to back off a bit when Alberto went into T9, but all was good!

Soon got by Alberto exiting T8 and braking into T9 on the inside line, holding on through T10 kink into T11 long back straight...this would be a common theme for my passes in the race.

And then the chase was on with Neil Gault in a Seat ahead of Xavier's BMW. Soon caught Xavi up but getting by, well that was tough! Good old Vertigo lack of straight line speed (I was even struggling to get by ST cars in a straight line fight!!). Realising I was strong out of T8 I eventually lined up the same inside move to brake and take into T9, but had to defend the inside into T11 as his speed was too much for me! Managed to hold on for what would actually be P2 (as others ahead apart from Neil had been on 2 stop strategies, or in Marcos' case a speeding infringement maybe?). It was half distance, and so immediately having passed Xavier, I pitted - and he followed in behind me.

I overshot my pitbox and had to reverse (neutral is tied to a button on my set up, so lost some time here!). Fuel in (too much as it would turn out) and new tyres, I saw Xavier's car drop onot the tarmac and start moving as my crew did the same. Up to the 60kph speed limit I didn't know exactly where he was but knew he was on my outside so kept to the left to give him space - as it happened I was a quarter car length ahead! Trundling down pitlane side by side with Garry in a pitbox ahead, Xavier backed off and so we exited pitlane together, just as we had entered.

When Neil Gault pitted, he rejoined behind me. But that Seat is just too fast!! 2 seconds gap was good - 1 lap I had a 1.5 second gap and he was side by side into T11 - me defending the inside line, but onto the main straight he went past me like I wasn't there!! At that point I could hang on to him, and I was hoping he would hit tyre wear issues and I could take advantage (he was the only Seat to 1 stop?).

But as we came across a gaggle of ST cars, the Seat of Neil blew by them, I got badly held up - just racing, but losing 5 seconds on one lap alone. This enabled Xavier to get on my tail and pass me into T1, as I retook exiting T1 Marcos (who had caught us up quick) ducked down the inside of Xavier and then tried to go on the inside of me into T3. I made sure to keep left, showing I wans't going to let him by on my inside, but as we reached the braking zone he tapped me up the rear, spinning me around. That put me back behind Xavier and Garry.

I rejoined having lost another 5 seconds, and then had another great fight with Garry and Xavier, with Xavier the pass through T8 exit into T9 worlked again, but he had good momentum out of T9 and in the end we went side by side through T11 and T12 after the long back straight. He retook me into T1 again on speed alone, but around T6 he went too deep and I retook P4.

Not many laps left, suddenly my tyres seeemd to cry no more! Garry had got past Xavier, and he was catching me. Luckily time came up and I managed to hold on to P4 for what was a really enjoyable race with some excellent close racing with Alberto, Garry and Xavier - top notch driving guys:).

Thanks to Ed for running IMSS and this series - really enjoyed the car differences within class, made for some entertaining, strategic and tactical racing.

Well done Brian on the win.

I knew it would be a tight race in the mid field. From lap one Michael applied pressure on me, Jack not being too far back. We kept pace for about 10 laps after what Michael made a pass on me. Lucky for me, in turn 1 of the last lap he went wide and it gave me the opportunity to go inside for P5 which I barely held to the finish. On a sad note, I must apologies to Charlie Parker for my hectic first lap, which took him out and made us loose a good driver in this race.

Not a great race for me this time out. All I can say is sorry Steven ...

I set a PB is qualifying getting into the mid-9's and was pretty happy with my chances for a decent finish here as I had made some improvements to my "race setup" since Mosport.

After the initial laps, I was part of the multi-car battle featuring Mario, Mike, Me and Jack. That was great racing, and once again, a reminder of why I like this sim. Mike and I swapped positions once, and we each had a chance at trying to get past Mario.

Unfortunately, on lap 7, heading into the outer loop, I bit off too much kerb on the inner loops exit and got the car into a slow lazy spin. Jack passed me without a problem, but Steven Hunter had no place to go and we connected.

So sorry Steven to make such a noob mistake. I hope it doesn't keep you from coming back and racing with us again.

Whew!

For the second time this week I had the yellow and orange of Rick's car filling my mirrors the whole race. Just one missed shift or overcooked corner away from Rick showing me who's the boss.

Congratulations to Rick and Brian for filling in the podium.

Thanks to Eduardo and IMSS for the series.

Thank you NEWFM for allowing me to run with the team.

As much as I loathe Lime Rock Park, I'm looking forward to seeing you all there.

well got to admit not too happy about this race, Kane was warping all over the place and ended up knocking me off at turn 2 on lap 2 i think. Ended up 2 laps down after going into the pits so had it all to do. with about 20 mins to go got myself up to 5 seconds behind Marcos and catching him when I got lapped by Kane who was still warping and as luck would have it , it happened again!! into the wall race over. I did mention it to Kane at the beginning he was warping but i was wondering what is the procedure at R2P on this? as with no fault of my own or kane's I end up with an DNF.

Thanks Charlie!

I was equally disappointed we lost Bruce so early on.

It was a lonely race for me also Charlie. I was having trouble concentrating and I was sure I was going to zone out and wreck.

Thanks to R2P, IMSS and Eduardo Lorente for this fine series.

I'm so glad we finally have iRacing @ R2P!

[Thanks for trying to help Reinhard, Charlie]

What a race that was! I spent the first half following my teammate as he challenged Jack Riley for position. After a minor mistake on his part, it was then my turn to try and apply pressure to Jack. Unfortunately, by then both Ray and I had burned out tires and had nothing left. What's more, Steven Hunter had been stalking us for much of the race and placed a "smooth-as-butter" pass on me on the next to last lap! Nice job Steven :)

Nevertheless, it was a fun race - these cars at this particular track are quite an experience! I look forward to racing with you guys at Watkins in 2 weeks.
