Last glimpse of a comfortable P3 after 1 hour 22 minutes into the race, when warping struck leading to the car crashing and sustaining major damage. No choice but to quit.
2nd and last pitstop on lap 52. I put enough fuel in my Aston Martin to finish the race (2 hour timed limit) - or so I thought! Fuel saved for last 15 minutes and crossed the line with 1 litre left!
Lap 3 and Charles Hodges in the Corvette GT1 (P4 in class) tries to pass Andy Graydon's Aston Martin GT1 (P3 in class) on the s/f straight. An approaching LMP meant he wasn't successful this time, but a lap later he was through.
Lap 23 and Ryan Ansoon's LMP1 laps Graydon's Aston Martin GT1 into the complex at Silverstone. It's quite an art (both sides) trying to deal with traffic, but leaving a gap soon leads to it being filled!
Fast blind corners mean that mayhem ensues, with multiple hits taken by LMP1 and LMP2 from P2 down. This is only lap 2 for the front runners. Very sorry guys.
Trying to avoid hitting the wall the rear then comes around, in an arc I go around the corner but head to wall on other side. Cars behind are LMP1 and LMP2 from P2 down - trying to lap me. Kieron Peace first to get hit by my out of control car.
Major front end damage caused within 10 metres of rolling warm up lap, pit for repairs and half way round first lap I find she suddenly understeers off the racing line big time. What follows is mayhem...
Around lap 30, Abuzant (P3 GT1 Class) ahead of Graydon (P4) with the action this close for the rest of the lap. The third of four battles during the hour long race. Abuzant would come out on top.
Start of the warm up lap, LMP1 and LMP2 are ahead, but these are the top 7 GT1 Class cars led by Davis; Maddison; Abuzant; Graydon; Gutierrez; Kernodle; Hodges. An Aston Martin - fest!
Defining moment on the exit of the Corkscrew at Laguna Seca - 20 minutes in, being lapped, and I decided to park it in the pits and DNF as I was a liability to others due to FPS slow down.
End of lap 1, and I'm just about to tap Boyd Bryson into a spin (in front, not seen) - we'd passed the green car, but its lights and my reduced FPS as a result meant I couldn't avoid contact.
