My version of a Race Frame, Sorry for the re-post guys but since I was invited i thought i would share one more time.
First and foremost I had to fabricate mine with the intent of having to use my PC for both racing and general accounting and such. So with that in mind it had to suit the Mrs. also,
plate swivel, CNC machined (1/4 thick each) with a Orange plastic coating shot pin for racing so the chair doesnt pivot, I bought a APC seat from Jegs, (I am looking for a donation now Jegs :) ) that has the Full adjuster, this is a must if you want the versatility of well a useful all around chair.
turntable ball bearing assembly holds it all together nicely. The base frame I welded plates to the bottom with 5/16-18 threaded holes for the 2-1/2 diameter-leveling feet for the adjustability of my preferred height and level. All tubing has been mitered and seam welded so there are no exposed ends. The chair frame I welded 2 pieces of steel for the connection to the pedals.
The connecting (chair to pedal) tubing is polished 304 stainless steel including fasteners, which adds a little flair of detail to the set-up. The last thing was the 304 tubing had exposed ends which I did not want, so I found a Buna-n-rubber sheeting with adhesive backing in McMaster Carr (yes I am looking for a donation again :)) and I cut strips and wrapped that around the exposed (rounded ends) of the tubing for a clean finish to that part.
ends to bolt onto the pedal frame, then I made (2) pieces of cold rolled steel, radiuses them for protection and bolted those on also the ECCI pedal so that all this can receive the 304 SS tubing to interlock both the seat and pedal together. The great thing about this set-up IMO is its fully disassembles in minutes if need be and dual purposed. This is the older set-up with the POS microsoft wheel/pedal set-up
