Im going to try and cut down on what I have on an Rfactor install. How would I go about setting up a second install of Rfactor so that for one I can have R2P stuff and in the other one all the tracks and mods that I try out? Regards,

Start with this.. rFactor Lite There are also some of the tracks you might need there too. Then go from there. -Garry |

Is it possible to copy the Rfactor folder then delete the tracks/ mods out of it and rename the exe and new folder? |

I managed to streamline my copy of rFactor by removing every last trace of it from my hard drive, snapping the disc i had it backed up on and setting it on fire.
Sorry, couldn't help myself. I'll get my coat.......... Someone get this thread back on track quickly.. :) |

If you have a huge rFactor install with lots of tracks and mods then copy that, your just going to create a lot of work for yourself. Best to do what Garry has suggested. I guess most of us have the main rFactor install and many other installs for specific mods. Just rename the folders not the exe. |

You can try! dont know if you can rename the exe. BTW: You see in the config.ini file of rFactor the locations of folders. You can have a tracks in one place and cars in other if you like. I have 1 folder with the original rFactor and: 1 Race2Play (Mods and Tracks use in R2P)
I have diferent configs in G25 for diferent cars, so.... Try it

I highly recommend keeping all of your tracks under one install and pointing the others to the install with the tracks.
