The following "flags" may appear at the top-left of your screen while driving in rFactor. Below is a brief description of each flag.

The viewing of flags is governed by the following line in the PLR file... Display Icons="2" // Icons displayed if HUD is off: 0 = none, 1 = flags only, 2 = all ...which is found in \rFactor\UserData\YourDriverName, in the [ Graphic Options ] section which begins about half way down the page. This file can be opened with any text editor such as Notepad or Wordpad. The value is set to "1" by default. |

The penalties! |
Yellow flag (advisory only) - Signifies that there may be a reason to slow up ahead. You should be prepared to have to come to a complete stop if need be.
Blue flag (advisory only) - Signifies that a faster car is approaching you from behind. This flag is only shown when the car behind is not for position. You are not required to move over for this faster car, but you should not contest this driver once a pass has been initiated.
Drive-through penalty - You may be issued a drive-thru by a Steward. This icon will display to you signifying that you have to serve a drive-through penalty. Do so by entering pit lane and driving straight through. You may not stop for service when serving a penalty.
Stop and Go penalty - You may be issued a stop-n-go by a Steward. This icon will display to you signifying that you have to serve a stop-n-go penalty. Do so by entering pit lane and stopping in your pit stall until released. You may not stop for service when serving a penalty.
