Ok tonight i was messing around with left foot brakeing trying to get my self to be able to do it, I can do it ok. but every once in a while ile find my right foot on top of my left foot lol .

I know left foot brakeing can be good for real life racing, because you can modulate the car better. less wieght transfer and stuff, well im sure this is the same for sim racing. what i wana know is.. is it worth it to learn??? for those who do it, is it a big advantage? or not??

I think its worth it to learn. Helped me a bunch through trail braking (braking through a corner), which is probably something you need to learn if you want to be damn fast. Also, for me at least, it just easier on the ankles. You can pretty much keep the feet in position and ready to brake instead of bringing the right foot over and braking, then going back to accelerate which can get tiring over a long period of time.

It's worth learning for sim racing.

Yes, worth learning. When I am driving slower less powered cars I find myself using both feet at different points on the track to brake depending on the corner. No, I don't mean putting both feet on the pedal :) I mean using left foot sometimes and right foot others...

In stock cars and f1 I always use left foot for braking.

you know, the way I see it, there are so few actual physical parallels to RL racing that you can't really associate RL disciplines to sim racing to say a 'left foot braker wont work' or 'needs to be perfected'. I, for one, started racin in RL when I was 9 yrs old, and that was in karts. When I was 20, I started racing SCCA for 8+ years and *NEVER* left foot braked, against many, many criticisms ... but managed to set multiple lap records and win divisional championships and R.O.Y. for breaking a 39 year streak. They have trouble telling me I'm wrong for some reason .. weird.

Currently, I drive my rig (logi G25) like a kart ... RF gas and LF brake .... PERIOD.

Realism, IMO, is out the window without depth and ass perception. Neither of which can be achieved with what I can afford, so correct me if I'm wrong rich folk.

I might stand to be corrected but did Paul Tracey only this year start using left foot braking in Chump Car?

Left foot braking is the way to go, I very rarely only use one pedal at one time... actually I'd love to see a telemetry graph of my pedal action, because I bet in every braking area and corner, I always have both pedals on at least 25%

Craig, When the day comes you get off the plane in the U S of A I am going to meet your with a knuckle sandwich :P Chump Car

Yes Tracy was right foot braker as was barrechello until 2 years ago. But these guys were still fast even though handicapped. Moral, whatever suites your comfort level stick with it. I always left foot sim raced but right foot in real life, its too hard with standard cars to get the left foot around the clutch pedal to brake. JMO
