Hi all, as you know all league allow any driving view, I'm asking if is possible to organize a legue with cockpit view only allowed.

Personally it is the only way I can drive, but I don't see why it should be forced. Is there some advantage to other views that I am not aware of? |

seems like it if you read those discussions. Personally I always drive with cockpit view, but I can go faster using hood view.

I prefer the cockpit view but I know others use the chase view to, especially for oval racing, get a better view of the other cars around you. It's like being your own spotter. |

I agree, cockpit view should be enforced as it is definitely an advantage for those NOT running in cockpit view. Like Christian said -- hood view is much easier to drive and results in faster and more consistant laps. The rule for Cockpit view would NOT exist if it had no performance impact on the driver. Some of these cars have considerable view blockage and require careful seat adjustment (for those that can adjust) to try and deal with roll cage and/or other safety equipment and/or body work that is getting in the way of one's apex view. In fact, I didn't realize anything other than cockpit view was allowed -- if it is, I'm definitely switching to hood view. I would also vote to require the use of a clutch. Rob. |

No on the clutch requirement. Most modern day race cars do not require the use of a clutch for upshifting or downshifting, just leaving from a dead stop. And besides, I dont have a clutch pedal!! LOL! And all of my wheel buttons are already accounted for. :-) |

Anything but CV is nothing but a driving "AID" IMO......
Some drivers say... - but it helps for your situational awareness - and - You know it helps when passing or passing another car-
IOW, IMO, bonnet cam or roof cam is for sissies! :))))) ps. To be very honest though I dont give a rats arse what view you drive in as long as it prevents you from being a dumbass on track in which case use it and abuse it for all I care... :))))
Edit: I see Mr Smith has learnt the importance of smilies heheheeh *winks* |
