Twice now in the last month it's crashed my computer and when I bring up Firefox again, all my bookmarks are gone. Same thing happened to Barry. Anyone else? Guess it's back to IE. |

Yep! I quit using it for that very same reason. I have even notified them 3 times to which I got absolutely NO REPLY. I am now back to I.E. |

I remember downloading some FF plugins that - on their first update - caused FF to go completely batshit. Vanilla FF seems the best way to go. |

I use FF on 3 pc's and have no problems with it crashing, it's been more stable than IE. As for your bookmarks - use Foxmarks. It's a plugin that stores your bookmarks off-site so you can access them on other computers. It's great for syncing bookmarks between multiple computers, and you don't have to remember to keep a backup on a disk somewhere. |

I frequently have some problems with FireFox. Sometimes it freezes for certain time, then comes back. It uses a lot of memory on some pages. Due to my work, I need to test/debug some html/javascript pages on different browsers and I have found the fastest and lighter browser is Opera. I would recommend to give it a try, you may be surprised. |

"I remember downloading some FF plugins that - on their first update - caused FF to go completely batshit." You may be on to something because both times it crashed, I was listening to music via a plugin for FF. Need to look into that maybe. "I have found the fastest and lighter browser is Opera." I've read plenty about Opera and will probably give this a go. I don't like IE or Netscape, so this would be a good alternative. |

Bookmarks can be recovered easy you dufus, should've asked earlier. ;) Go to: X:\Documents and Settings\YourName\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ - If you have only one Firefox profile, there will be one folder within "Profiles", inside that folder there sould be few files called "Bookmarks". Voila. BTW If you can't see "Application Data" folder: "Tools → Folder Options → View (tab) → Show hidden files and folders" |
