I had an old Win98SE/Dos box sitting in the closet in a heavy, ugly, HP steel case, that was taking up way too much space. Been looking for a long time now for a nice but cheap aluminium case to replace it so I can at least store it and lift it without breaking my back. Saw this at Newegg earlier this week (it was 79.99 earlier in the week, and I had a $20 coupon from being a newegg newsletter subscriber: EMCACBKDC ) to make it 59.99. Too sweet of a deal to pass up!! It looks nice and pretty. Excuse my ugly palm print on the bottom.
Where's the power supply???
:D It's like magic! PSU in the front makes it super small and saves space. It's a little messy, i didn't bother too much with cable routing, it's a P2 400, the hottest it can get is probably still cooler temp wise than a new GeForce 8800Ultra. :)
Gaze in awe at the power of the all mighty Pentium 2!!
It's so light, I can carry the whole thing with one arm. Another cool thing, the airflow is backwards. Cool air sucked in from back, over the CPU, and out the hard drive bay. Hot air exits the front via those little slots on the side of the front fascia. (2 120mm fans. Pretty quiet too) I'm obviously under utilizing it, like putting a Geo Metro engine inside a Porsche Boxster. hah! But if any of you need a cheap but small home media pc to sit next to your regular TV/home ent system, this would be a pretty good deal. (I dare you to find an all aluminum full atx capable case for $70 bucks) It's classic Lian Li, nice and clean exterior. Would fit in nicely with the rest of your regular set top boxes. |
