I see there are groups already for the 08 championships for each discipline, but didn't see a general group about championships discussion, so maybe I can just field this one here.

Has there been thought to how the championships are actually going to work? Has it been announced already and I missed it? If so, can you link me to the details? If it has not been announced but has been decided, can you say when it will be announced? If it has not even yet been decided, is there any sort of ongoing discussion about how they will work?

Thanks

Actually, yes it has all been decided, just not announced. You should have some specifics by seasons end

Thanks, Tim. Looking at the page, there's an interesting race going on whether or not the participants are aware of it. I have been watching to who will be the first driver to qualify for all 4 disciplines (if anyone does). So far, there are only two drivers who qualify for 3 disciplines: Pete Bunce and Conor McCarrell. Neither of them has had much, if any, open wheel participation of late and neither appear to be planning to do any, save a single fbmw entry.

So, who (if anyone) has the mettle (or the free time) to run in and qualify for all four disciplines?

I removed my post for ya Justin... For some reason, my brain must have faded when reading part of your post.

I was intending on trying to qualify for all four, but those plans were abandoned after TPSCC was dropped as a stock car series (I don't, nor ever plan to get arca). Having qualified for sports and touring car last season, I'm hoping to grab a top 10 in the champcar series this season to qualify for open wheel and take any pressure off S9. I haven't seen any 'playoff' schedule yet so I'm not sure how demanding things are going to get come the end of the year, but I'm sure it will be a lot of fun.

Wasn't even aware of that. I was planning on running the FBMW series a few weeks ago, but its timing doesn't work too well with me on Thursday nights. I'll run a few later this season, whether or not its enough to get me into the championships on the OW side, doesn't matter much to me. There's not many series that peak my interest in OW at the moment. F1 intrigues me a bit and I will be making my debut later this season, but I definitely won't run it full time. Don't think I'll get a clean sweep this season...

Seems a bit unfair to have a Stock Car Challenge as a qualifier when its on so late for Europeans that its not feasable to join if you work office hours like I do.

Haven't you heard? Off-road and rally have been added too.

Seriously though, you only have to qualify for one discipline to be invited for the multi-discipline championship, right? That's how I understood the blurb.
