I didn't notice much, if any difference with the patch at Jiading. I think it might increase the overall probability of rain? It seemed to rain abit on the server leading up to race. I for one am all about the weather. It makes for a challenge and can't wait for wipers with Evo(hope the headlights improve). |

I'd like to see this weather patch at all events. :-) |

I don't think the weather patch guarantees weather will change during the race. I think it will just increase the probability that weather/temps will change, as Paul stated. At Jiading, I didn't see the ambient temperature waiver 1 degree (I saw a constant 68*F). However, Tom Rue says he saw a 3 degree change at one point. I was busy chasing Timon for 90 minutes so I didn't look down at my telemetry much. :) I'll keep all future races (except the night races) with this patch. Hopefully we'll see some dark clouds form at Phillip Island. UPDATE: I ran a GT-I race at Estoril a few months back. It started raining during the first 20 minutes of the race and it cleared up afterwards. Was pretty cool. It was a gamble on everyone's part on which tires to take. Most people stuck with slicks, while a few had to pit early on. |
