Hi all,
Firstly, on behalf of the Shark admin team of John Bayes, Dave McRoberts, Alan Strang and myself, I would like to thank everyone who has supported our events to date this year. It has been noticed not least by us that our events have regularly had the biggest fields of the (mid) week. So we are obviously doing something right! With the occasional gentle reminder the standard of driving and etiquette displayed has been very high and we would very much like that to continue as it makes our job easier. Please do not let that slip. For the next set of series the general plan is something like this. Anyone who watches motor racing live will know that rather than there being one race at a track on a Sunday, there will be a number of support events to the main race. GP2 > F1, F3 Euro > DTM etc. This style of entertainment we are now looking to bring to our own events. For those of us who like to make a night of our racing we will be introducing something along those lines. The exact mods are to be decided but the plan would be to have a double header at a track, with a 30 minute race to begin with followed by the main event of a 45min - 1 hour event. Example.(In UKGMT)
Alternate weeks would have another track with F BMW and F Nippon for examples sake. So we are looking at four championships running. Now for some that may be too much to practice for, that is why we may stick to mods already used so some have setups they can tweak, of course you would not have to enter every race, the choice is the same for any R2P event. People could focus on 1, 2 or all of the series if they wished. The Mods - (sticking to rfactor here) Obviously we all like the two we are using at the moment and that would be a big factor in our choice. However we would therefore be looking for the two mods, one open wheel and one tin top, to be the "main event" series each week. Other Choices?
Tin Tops
The above are just thoughts in terms of the mods used. Also we could have a mix of open wheel and tin top at a track as well. Although we will make the final decision, your considered input is welcome to make these truly memorable events, so any experiences or +/- against any mods are welcome in terms of feedback. Thanks

I don't like very much that plan, I think using 2 different mod's in a short time would be a little confusing for the drivers. Some drivers would drive only one race and I think the grids would be smaller. I like the way Shark championships are going now, one mod each week. It's my opinion. About the mod's, I hate Mégane :D, I prefer DTM 2007 instead of 2002, I love V8 Supercars and I would like to use PCC 2007, this one is a very good mod, but it isn't popular in Race2Play :( I think I'm going to drive only touring cars, so I don't care about OW mod's :D |

2007 Endurance Touring Car Series 1.00 seems a ok mod but the fastest class is just full of bmw m3 gtr's (yawn) |

I agree with Pablo about the two different mods following each other. However I would be all for two races following each other, same mod, same track. Means the whole time practicing wouldn't be totally wasted if you make a mess of the first race. First race shorter and worth less points. Efficient - No 2nd qualifying session - finish positions of 1st race = grid for second. I despise the concept of reverse grids (unless the number of positions is random and kept secret). Mods - my vote for the new FIS. |

i also don't like the 2 mods in the same day. if you practice for 10 hours during the week thats 10 hours in 1 car not 5 for 2 cars. more practice = better races.

I know in some circles it is not popular but how about fixed setups on the "other 2 mods" & running them on tracks that have been used in past Shark events, eliminating setup & track knowledge issues in one move For what it's worth & having run both of these before in "fixed" mode I would suggest V8 Supercars & Toyota Atlantic--these two would be a great fit for the majority of drivers currently contesting in the Shark/Ecosse series. |

People seem to be acting as though it would be mandatory to run both races on one night. If you don't want to practice for two races then just compete in one of the races, maybe spectate the other one. I like the idea as long as the grids stay above 20 for all races, which is something you might struggle to acheive. As for mods, I like V8 Supercars and rF3. |

If i had to choose another open wheeler, it would be the F3 Euro as many open wheeler mods just don't seem to work well, with very little low speed downforce, where as FBMW mod is just the top mod in open wheeler in my opinion. As for tin tops, well i'd have to go with the endurance touring cars, the v8's handle like a boat on wheels (hopefully it gets sorted in the next patch) panoz is another good one, protons and lms are made for endurance, which would be abit late to start an enduro for the 2nd race and dtm 02 is just poor mod from what it was in F1C. I do like the idea of a support and main event, but i think grids would be down for the latter race. starting at 9.45pm uk time would mean finishing at 10.45, which could be near mid night, into the next day for some guys, and as its a week day i don't think many will opt into staying up till the late/early hours on a week night. |

Where is the ETCC mod?. ETCS too boring we would all be using the BMW M3 GT car. I would go for ETCC and F3 or FBMW. |
