Has anyone else experienced this? At the beginning of every stage I had to re-map my controls! If I didn't I would tear off in reverse, handbrake didn't exsist, whenever I lifted the brakes would slam on. It cost me well over a minute on the first stage while I tried to figure out what was going on - after that it would cost me 15-30 seconds. This was my first race on my new system with Vista. Not to worry though, I love the game - glad to see it's finally here for online play - and I ordered a new steering wheel today so hopefully I won't have to worry about it next race.

I believe you have to do the mappings in single player mode and after you've done them , save the changes and exit the game. On the next time you start the game , the new mappings should stay. If i recall it correctly , it's important to exit the game right after you've done the mappings.

I am having the exact same problem, and at least for me calibrating offline (following Samuel's instructions) is NOT working. I am having to recalibrate before the start of every race and in between stages. I am using a TSW Digital Evolution Wheel. Once I am calibrated it works fine, but as Rich mentions I am losing a ton of time at the starts due to this. Seems like a possible bug, anyone aware of a fix?

I had the same problem, but only with my paddle shifters being reversed. I thought it was becuase of the setup I downloaded and tried. I then reset my controls off-line, saved the setup, and use that setup online, and it works fine. I have a Momo wheels/pedals.

I think it's just an old steering wheel that isn't compatible with Vista. That's what I'm betting on anyway. I ordered a new Momo wheel and I'll see if that works.

I am running XP and having the problem with my TSW. Unfortunately a new wheel is not an option as this is already a high dollar wheel, so if I can't make it work with some sort of fix, I probably wont be able to compete in these events. Is anyone else running a TSW?

I started a thread on this problem over at RSC to see if anyone knows how to fix it. For me this is a show stopper, if I have to lose 15-30 seconds at the start of each stage it doesnt make sense to race. And another wheel is not an option, I spent almost $1000 on this one, which I love very much and works perfectly in all other sims (rfactor, GPL, N2003, LFS, etc).

I found a solution for the Momo - I unplugged the controller, uninstalled the profiler, plugged the controller in and let the computer do the rest. So far it's working.

If you're practicing with the cheat profile, make sure you go back to your real profile and reset the controls again - apparently the controls go back to default when you change profiles.

Did you see the TSW Evolution RBR setup guide David?

I did and still having some problems, but trying a few things, I've been working with Dave over at TSW and we are trying to see what we can come up with. We think it may be related to their newer digital wheels and the game ... hard to say at this point.
