I'm sure that if you use Google you won't need to pay :D BTW, It is a great track so some people have paid for it, same for Akina downhill. |

I would pay 10 bucks for a track but would rather spend 15 bucks and get a whole game. 10$ track does not seem proportional to the 15$ you can get gtr2 and race 07 for. |

That looks like a gorgeous track. What's the name? Or is it not allowed to be mentioned by name? If it's a legal track (and if people are asking money for it, I certainly hope it is) then I have to say it looks (just based on the video plz) to be R2P-ISO quality.

Francesco, the name of that track is GZ Street GP. The track costs 9.80$, about 7$ for the night version. Akina downhill (Initial D track) costs 9.80$ too. At the moment they had 44 downloads, what means winning about 386$. This track was released at rFc. People rated the track without trying it in a very stupid way. Raceking and his mates, who made the track, are from China, and I read stupid comments in rFc like "Free Tibet", "Boycott the olympics", that sucks. Finally that track was removed from rFc because of people behaviour. I think rFc should be a site for free addons, anyway I don't care if there are some paying tracks. I don't like payware, I think everybody prefer free tracks, but if someone makes a track and wants to charge for it there's no problem, it's his own work and he can do what he wants with it. |

$386 eh? I could bet if you would put that into a perspective of how much hours of work has been spent on making it, by each team member, you would probably come up with pretty low hourly wages. |

Ditto to what Francesco said. If the addons are up to scratch then i see no problem in paying for them if you are going to get good use of them. But I really only ever drive tracks that are used by R2P so this wouldn't be much use to me. If R2P adopted this track, I would buy it, if not, then I won't, because I won't be getting my money's worth. |

Tough call buying a track. An add-on or a mod get more use, but in the 4 months I've been sim-racing, I still haven't raced at the same track twice. I've written a few rfactor plugins and if I ever decide to release them, there's just no way I'd think of charging for them when so many other modders have given me stuff for free. I feel it would degrade them. It's a thing of passion and that's what has made rfactor such a success. Anybody is welcome to charge, I just hope it doesn't catch on as I'm sure it would kill the rfactor phenomenon. |

It depends, i am prepared to pay for a track for a small fee like a couple of £'s like in Forza2, but only if its gonna be raced, like many, we don't see point in paying for something thats could end up being using very little. Also i think that even if you paid a couple of £'s for a track, the amount rfactor has (must be at least couple of hundred now) well i for one would be skint. |
