Pending the release, will we be migrating to the new sim 4 s10? The series seems to be same cars + a couple.

Yeah, we will eventually be moving to GTR Evo. Has anyone heard a release date/month?

There is a side project in the works. It invovles turbos, diesel, and open cockpits......... stay tuned. ;)

I heard end of June.

Side project sounds cool. Have some half decent ones for rFactor and GTR2, but none are up to Race2play standards. I would love to see a 3rd class out there

Charles, your saying we won't be playing GTR2, but instead GTR Evo for upcoming races? Interesting if this is true.

I should clarify my post. "Eventually" does not mean right away. I'm happy with GTR 2, there is nothing wrong with it. Since it is planned to be released at the end of June, which happens to be between seasons, that gives R2P time to host fun-runs and test it out before Season 9. (And it's certain there will be a patch within a few months, no game today is complete).

The drawback of going to Evo for S9 is we will not be able to race the add-on tracks. Plus the side project is GTR 2 dependent. It will be months before any mods/tracks come out, and because it's loosely based on RACE 07, will it be mod-friendly? RACE 07 surely is not. And we all know how STABLE RACE 07 is, eh? :-0

I think we can do at least 3 more months of GTR 2 until the switch. GTR 2 is not quite 2 years old. Yes? No? No? yes?

Guys, don't bet everything you have on that GTR Evo. If that game is supposed to be GTR2 replacement I'm fearing that it might turn out to be arcadish like RACE07 but I truly hope I'm wrong.

I agree, GTR Evo will have Race07 psychics as it will come out as an add-on for Race07. I tried the demo of Race07 and if it's not improved in full GTR Evo release I'm not getting anywhere near it. I think the hardcore simmers will share my opinion and there will be enough GTR2 leagues around.
I will closely watch the release and reviews but will lose no sleep if it doesn't gain popularity.

I guess there's a lot more money to be made from the Playstation Generation than a bunch of old fart sim racers. The way things are going, I reckon GTR2/RF will still be our staple diet when R2P celebrates it's 20th birthday :)

The Race07 menu's seem cartoonish and the multi-player is not great. Hopefully GTR EVO will fix that. Race07 has the best in game look out of all of them. I thought that the 3 current sims used the gmotor engine and from screenies GTR EVO was running on Lizard. It is all about physics, obviously. If Evo does not live up to standards, the forget it.
