New Series {WIP}: a simplified version of the Perfect Dark prototype mod starting next month. [Simplified meaning: smaller and simpler install of the original. The original requires you to 1) download the mod 2) apply skins 3) then apply a patch. On top of that, the menu system in the game is very disorganized and cluttered.] The version I have put together is a 1 click install, ready to drive. The schedule will have a race every 3 to 4 weeks. Each race will be around 2 hours- some 3 hours.... maybe 4? :0. We will follow the 2008 LMS schedule (which are all nearly default GTR 2 tracks, with the exception of Silverstone). The series will be unrestricted (in terms of car usage), but most likely have a minimum sports car rank (no maximum) to enter. The goal is to offer something new for the GTR 2 crowd, especially those that enjoy endurance races. Here is a short video I threw together: (also available in high quality) |

Heinz, you're 1 for 2. Keep guessing on that 2nd song. :) This series lineup will consist of current and recent LMPs- no GT cars. I figured if I created a full LMP/GT series, who would join just to race the GT cars when we already have those series? Here is the tentative LMP lineup: (Might cut 1 or 2 LMP1s) LMP1/P900 Audi R8
LMP2/P675 Courage C65
This series has been in the underground since mid-May and soon we'll have some real LMPs to race with. My current chapter GTPC will eventually take a new life (and name) hosting this series. Expect a download in a week or two. |

I would LOVE to see this series! I have the current mod, and I would love a reason to drive it, but racing the AI's is a hopeless cause. I agree with the no GT decision. I don't see why anyone would choose to drive the GTs with all the prototypes to choose from. I say get rid of the Audis and make people drive the other ones! |
