We are changing rule #3 about the cautions. Hold position from now on. "3. Cautions will be enabled. Racing back to the line when the caution comes out is not allowed. When the caution comes out hold your position." |

I'm a rookie on ovals so does this refers to "Not alowing fight for position once the caution starts"? I believe the game allows fight for position until the finish line, so this rule I understand will not be enforced by the game. |

The game does allow it, but rFactor being rFactor it usually craps out if you try it. Especially if there are connection issues. |

Right. The game allows it, but we had more crashes in the race back to the line than we did under green on Monday. The way the safety car pops out, you can race to the line but have to stand on the brakes once you get there, and that just causes chaos. Plus you have crashed cars trying to limp back to the pits (or still stuck on the track), which is dangerous too. Holding position will be a little tricky, but hopefully everyone will play along. We're all starting to get to know each other I think, so it should start getting a little better out there. |

From the experience of racing stock cars with the TPSCC mod here, maintaining position when the yellow is not difficult at all to do. Clearly, when the yellow comes out and you are in a group of car you should not stomp on the brakes, you just reduce speed gradually, maintain position and drive back to the line. Everyone has to be careful with the drunken pace car, the silly thing warns you about a zillion times aboud "driving too slow". With rF the admin will always have clear bogus penalties, but especially with a good group of people there are no issues at all maintaining position. |
