I keep going back and forth on this, so now I am passing the buck onto your guys. I have been *considering* another tweak to the compatibility files; - Reduce tire temp buildup by about 15-20% (we should be fighting to get the tires UP to temp, not the overheating we currently have)
Thoughts? |

None of this is really critical, I just like to make it difficult |

I like the tyre compound switch between stops!! This should help a few different strategies .... I dont know what the tyre temp buildup refers to, ive never seen tyre temp problems, just wear... and i dont understand the engine refining.. thought all SE cars have the same engines ? |

Allowing different tire compounds during the race is an awesome idea, if (like you said) you *must* start the race with what you qualied on.

1. I haven't personally thought that tire temps were unreasonable. There has only bee one or two tracks where I was fighting with temps but was able to keep it within reason by changing my driving style (which was likely incorrect to begin with), so I don't see this as necessarily needed, but I supposed it doesn't really matter since we all will get the same hit/benefit. 2. Changing of compounds in a race...it does sound great, but it seems to me like the lack of compound changes adds a challenge in strategy decision that I sort of like. Again, if it was allowed, everyone would be able to use it, so I'm not opposed, but I am not sure it would add anything besides everyone having faster qualifying runs instead of the long-stint cars having to start further back. 3. Onboard starter, I like the idea but honestly it's most attractive to me because if I crashed and stalled my car, I would still be able to go on. I thought that even with the current system we have access to the starter in the pits so you can shut down while in the stall and use the starter, you just can't use it out of pit lane. Correct me if I'm wrong though. 4. Doesn't really seem to make a difference to me other than that perhaps our times would be more in line with what the current F1 drivers are doing IRL. |

So its ok to continually tweak (patch) the F1 series which is a great mod but flawed. But when members asked for a tweak to the champ car mod for similar driveability reasons you wont consider it. Aero Push - post 7 - quote "Well, I will put my foot down on this one with brutal honesty. If there is another version or patch of CCWS, we will almost certainly drop it's official support at Race2Play and find something more suitable for such a premium time slot". Smacks of double standards to me! |

If adjusting the tire remps will make it more like the real cars, then I'm all for it. I don't really like the idea of different compounds since it's not done in real F1. I'd very much prefer the engine kept the way it is. |

I understand what you are saying Allen and is why some of the CCWS guys have slapped me into submission on the issue :-) It is a non-issue at this point These proposed changes were not intended to "fix" a flawed mod (minus the glass brakes fix many seasons ago) but to actually make it more challenging for the veterans. Still, as I said in my first post, I am very back-n-forth on any changes and for the very reason you bring up. |

I'm not so deep into this mod, but I like these tweaks, especially the power reduction.

Maybe take the tire compound deal a bit further and make it closer to the real series by requiring all drivers to have to run at least 1 stint on soft tires. Not sure how this could be policed, but when I make a setup, it's usually with 1 tire compound in mind. Making me change to a compound my setup might destroy would make things interesting. I would probably never change compounds during a race otherwise. Just not enough hours in the day to test every compound and tweak the setup to each. |
