Hey guys & William, hope you don't mind if I post here as you all are racing this mod.
Yeah I know I caught some people out with the engine temps and running too low a radiator :-) It was intentional as max revs and min rads is not a valid race strategy, but I will back off on the rate of heating a little bit. Someone also mentioned to me that it takes a touch too long to fill the tank, so I increased the fuel fill rate. Anything else? Since I've been working on it again and have more than the couple weeks for the original release I have spent more time on the suspension and chassis geometry, I think it's even WAYYY better this time round. Because of the event it was tailored for (the 500) the susp was VERY stiff, unfortunately too stiff in it's default road course setup. So the whole thing handles and feels better all the way around now. Suggestions? Tire wear? Aero? Speeds? Power? Tommy P.S.- Jon Weal if you see this, your prize besides all the women and glory of winning the R2P Indy 500 is you can include your QuickMusic.com car into the next full release mod version if you want. (limits are same as ISI, no real world trademarks unless you have express permission to use them) |

P.P.S.- I can't do anything about rFactor's oval racing rules and flags, before someone asks. Just car stuff. |

Of course I don't mind you posting here. Anything we can do to help out the mod. I am sure most of these guys are willing to help out. I for one have not really raced it all that much. And when I do actually race I am using in the back of the field just watching over things. One thing I did notice and I think it was brought up at one point is the front tires just look really weird to me. Not sure if there is anything you can do about that though. |

I haven't used it enough to give any serious feedback, but I was playing against AI last night and got a good ol' laugh out of seeing you and Tim in the field. I had a great battle with Tim, but boy he did play dirty. I reckon add more R2P members! |

Thanks very much for the kind offer Tommy... I will remove the decals from my car and send a copy of it to you today sometime. With regards to the mod it'self; personally, I'm of the opinion that it's only really the road course chassis that is in need of tweaking. I wouldn't have said that there was an overheating problem other than cars overheating as quickly as they do during routine pitstops. I think the cold tyres could probably do with being a little less grippy. That's all I can suggest for now. |

just guessing the answer on Flags, penalties issues, bad pace cars. It's the maker of the tracks fault. Poor design. |

On subject of engine heat. I like the way there is reward vs. risk affect. For me I have learned to tame the engine heat problems in pitting situations. But it involves having to do silly unrealistic things to control the heating. Just sitting idleing in a safe radiator position like (4) should not result in overheating. Or spinning out and having overheating getting back on track, or waiting for the field to go by. If using 4. If your using rad 2 your asking for the danger. Over abuse of RPM's should have heat issues. just 2 cents,

Since I am a physics dodo bird, I will avoid that part of the subject. My only question is about damage: last night I barely touched someone at 5mph and I sustained heavy suspension damage. It's not at all that by touching an other car or object I *do* get damage-- that's fully understandable, it's the *degree* of damage proportional to the incident and especially its effects on the car's behaviour.
