After five very good races the season end is upon us, and the titles are still very much alive. In the drivers championship, last season winner Jack Keithley is headed by five points by UK-NL driver Keiron Peace, who has returned excellent results in his four events to date. Having taken three of the five events to date between them it would appear to be advantage Peace, but stranger things have happened in the final race of a series. If it gets completely bizarre for the top two, then this may open the door for the Shark duo of Steve Davis and John Bayes, who will be hoping for the top two to fall out to give themselves a chance of the title. Team title wise it is even tighter, with just three points separating UK-NL, defending champions and series hosts Team Shark, and SRD International. Given the drivers mentioned above all feature in those teams, one slip up somewhere could decide both titles, so it is yet again squeaky bum time in all three camps. Much may be decided by the finishing positions of the other drivers in the teams, so Nick Phillips for one will be looking to improve on his disastrous points haul of just one point to date from four events. Whether he will be racing will be cause for debate as he returns from hospital just a short time before the race, and may take one for the team and miss the event. Good luck to all racing tonight as we run the final race, and with a couple of weeks break to the next series, lets have a memorable ending! Cheers

Congratulations to Keiron Peace on his championship win, however the team title is beyond my maths so we shall declare once the race results have been added by Tim. And if you wonder where I went, final lap, chasing Kieron hard as possible, PC crashed. I am firmly glad that season is over from my POV!!! |
