This might have been suggested before and I imagine it's definitely been discussed at least by R2P folks, but I am curious why the "Time" column in the event results shows the total time for every driver (aside from DNFs) instead of showing it as a gap from the leader. I'd personally rather see the gap than the total times. Perhaps it could be changed or a gap column could be added to compliment it?

I think it would be nicer too but not if done like pro racing, eg. the British GP the other day:

1. 1:39:09.440
2. +68.5 secs
3. +82.2 secs
4. +1 lap
5. +1 lap
...
12. +1 lap
...

as that loses information for the people not finishing on the lead lap.

But changed to:

4. +1 lap, 2.5 secs

etc and that's cool.

It's because that's the way it's written in LOG results, I think.

I would assume that a decision was made to leave it in that format, then, because it would be a very trivial change to have the P1 finish time subtracted from the column value for each row to get the diff time.

@jonty: I agree that I wouldn't want to lose the detail. I think we should just show straight up gap times for the entire column. We already have a laps finished column, so that information is present without munging the contents of the time column.
