If your plan is for a standard pc, it should be a great card. If you're looking at sim racing, I think you will be very limited with 128MB and the AGP. My first 3D card I ever bought was a Matrox. Don't remember the model number, but it had a whopping 4MB of dedicated video memory. This was around 1997 I think. I gave it to a friend and it's STILL in use today. Un-friggin real. |

The Parhelia chip was released in 2002 to poor reviews despite everyone loving the 3 monitor support. For game performance it didn't even match the GeForce 4 at launch and it only got worse when the ATI 9700 and GeForce 5 products were launched. In fact, a dirt cheap GeForce 6, 7 or 8 would be so much better (faster, DX 9) and you could then tie that to a Triple Head 2 Go from Matrox to get what you are looking for. You would only need the analog Triple Head 2 Go to match the analog-only 3-display output of the Parhelia. Also, I believe the third head on the Parhelia had a lower perf RAMDAC than the other two, which limited it to 1024x768. |
