Hey guys. I am curious if anyone is using TrackIR and if they think it's really that good. Personally I don't even use look-to-turn because it just doesn't feel right to me. I am curious how TrackIR support in rFactor feels and if it would add something to my racing.

Any feedback from people who have actually used it for racing would be nice.

I found it quite dis-orienting with GTR and rF, but seemed good with GTL for some reason (for reasons un-explained). Someone else said the same thing before I got mine a while back. I also got tired of re-centering it nearly every time I came out of a corner. I move around a lot more than I realize. But, I've also read from many people that use it and can't do without it now.

It works VERY well Justin. Never had any problems with it at all. It calibrates and works VERY smoothly and didn't notice any frame rate hits at all, so the software is good too.

Now for flight sim, it's an absolute must have. :D

I feel the same as GH. Didnt really like it in any sim but GTL.

In fact, I think GH bought mine from me... right?

Thanks for the feedback guys. I had a feeling it wasn't something I needed, but just in case I was missing something, I wanted to be sure from people whose opinions I value. I never put too much value into professional product reviews because I think there's some incentive to not be too harsh when a company gives you the thing for free to review on your site/show/whatever.

Justin, with the F1 racing you do, and the blistering cornering speeds that are attained, track IR would most likely not have any benefit- and perhaps would do more harm if anything.

Works great for flightsims, which seems to be the primary intent of track IR, which is why I use it.

I did indeed. Dayam. That was around the beginning of R2P. Has it been that long? In fact, I believe you're the one that told me it was, oddly, good with GT Legends, but weird with GTR and rF. I still use it. And if it still works after this long, you know it was built well. Rare these days. :D

I have a TrackIR 4 pro myself Justin..

The sad part is... I've spent many hours telling myself "don't sell it... you'll use it someday". But I've yet to come to that day.

I received mine in March and It felt alright in F1 cars, but was completely disorienting in GTR2 and most other cars. It performs it's job perfectly, I just don't use it. I'm not a big fan of hats either. Not that that would be the deciding factor.

Should I sell it guys? I can't decide.

I got a deal on mine on ebay. The seller had it in the wrong catagory and no one had looked at it or bid on it. $50 with shipping for the track ir ultra!!!!
I tried it with the sim racing games...make sure you turn off the up/down motion within track ir. Just use the left/right motion. It can be very disorienting if not set up correctly!!!!

Same here. I only use the L/R motion and set to very low sensetivity.
