Yeah i know there are probably quite a few of these topics but some of them seem specific to the posting person.

It`s an 8mb wired router whilst the laptop is wireless to the router from my O2 mobile phone company, i don`t remember ever having a disco before (cable broadband) now i come to think of it. I got 1hr40mins into the 3hrs Spa event last night and bang got the message and got booted to the multiplayer lobby where a list of servers was still showing. I did notice when i shut the game down that i got a message in the taskbar "internet now connected" something i see daily on the laptop but thought it was just a loss of connection because the laptop is wireless - this is the reason i made sure the pc was hard wired to the router.

This is twice in 13 races now and starting to bug me.

Also just read that you can buy a gaming router?

Thanks.

I'm one of those other guys posting about my own problem in another thread. Mine has gone on a long time and I'm hoping it's finally fixed. The solution in my case seems to have been getting a new network card but it took alot of testing of everything else first to narrow it down to that.
I suggest you check your Event Viewer next time you get a problem to see if you can isolate what is happening at that time.
Other possibilities include interference from other devices like cordless phones, faulty cables or sockets. If you use torrents, watch out for your ISP interfering with your connection. Turn off anti-virus software and firewalls or atleast create exceptions for sims.
Good luck with sorting it out, I know how frustrating it can be.
