I figured I would rate today (and this past weekend) as one heck of a special event.

The NAGT exclusive and promo events consisted of 20 races over a 3 day period. In fact, Race2Play was fueled up with only NAGT events from Aug 30th through Sept 1st with 13 (!) of those events being run in a single day. At points through out the day, races were beginning every 30 minutes across multiple servers. These events actually put us over the 1,000,000 laps and 2100 events raced here at Race2Play since Jan '07.

NAGT was downloaded more then 3500 times within the first 24 hours after release, accounting for 1 TB of data transfered from the download servers (none of them failed, woohoo!). Literally thousands upon thousands of new Race2Play members in a single day.

I would like to congratulate the USPits & RSR teams for all their hard work on NAGT. It has been an overwhelming success across all leagues and forum discussions.

A very special congratulations goes to Tommy Christian (one of our own here at R2P). Tommy, after his work on the Formula IS '08 mod, was referred to the USPits to help polish up the physics on NAGT so it could *finally* be released. Instead a simple spit-shine, Tommy reworked the ENTIRE physics and tire models of NAGT in a 3 week period... and this while he became a new father to his first child! I know that a large group of people worked on NAGT, but if I had to single one guy out as being the All-Star, it is Tommy Christian.

I hope everyone enjoyed the NAGT release at Race2Play, I know I sure did. Many old faces popped in for a race, tons of regulars, and even a very good showing of first-time Race2Play drivers. Here is to our next big exclusive release (shhhh!) and next big weekend of special events.

3500 downloads, WOW.
Definitely the largest online event I have ever been a part of, and the most successful to boot! I am honored to play a small part and to help contribute to the mod I always wanted to race. I'm just glad my friends here can now race it too.

But when I go elsewhere and read the pettyness, the smallness of small weak people, the "Internet Experts" who hide behind screens and really know and have done nothing, have no rw education and no rw experience, I just go and hold my beautiful little girl:

See you guys on track!

Congratulations on the bab' TC, she's a beaut! Kudos on all the work and when it comes to the keyboard heros: they're just jealous. Think how long it would take them to program the physics for a mod as good as NAGT without the use of opposable thumbs.

I had no idea Tommy was the physics genius who created the best rFactor mod of all time! I can't thank you enough for renewing my interest in rFactor and sim racing in general, which has been flagging lately.

Tommy, you have your priorities straight. Ignore "those" people and enjoy your little girl. Congratulations!
