I've just made a skin for the NAGT C6 car but no matter what I convert it to .dds as (DXT1, DXT5, etc) it looks wrong. DXT1 is what I should be using right? Well when I do that the paint is extremely shiny and you can see the original skin through it and if I use DXT 5 then the colour is less reflective but you can still see the old skin underneath. Anyone got any idea's as to how I should be doing it? I've made loads of skins recently for the ILMS mod and never had a problem Thanks Tim |

I've had the same problem with the NAGT mod when skinning a car. YOu are supposed to use DTX 5, but although I deleted the original alpha channel and put my own, the original livery could still be seen underneath. I think there must be some info. about the original skin in another file different from the skin ones, but I couldn't get where. I'll keep an eye on this thread as I', also interested in the answer. Good luck. |

Right, I've had a bit of a fiddle and I think I've got it sussed. I downloaded the NAGT skin pack from this site and found where the custom skins were installed (something like 'C6_generic\SKINS') then put my .dds (DXT5) file into that folder and it worked. Weird. |

Glad to see you worked it out and thanks for sharing. So you don't have to place your skin files into a new "SKINS" folder under the original skins folder for that car as usual? |

Guys, you can only skin the "Generic" versions of the NAGT cars. The others have separate alpha textures built-in, they can't be skinned the usual way. |

Thanks Michael, that explains it all. I was trying to skin one of the non-generic cars. |
