14 laps of the Nurburgring Enduro track (Nords + part Nurb GP), and for 10 of those laps I fought for P3 with Iain Watson. P4 and Gorgiev wins the Drivers title, I need P3! Last chicane (after long straight), last lap, 1.7 secs at the line! Champion!

2 hour race with 1 pitstop at the halfway point. Iain Watson was around 1.5 seconds ahead as we entered pitlane together. Here I burn the rears up as he's passed me already and the gap is maintained on pit exit.

I needed P3 to "steal" the Drivers title from a 'disco'd' Goran Gorgiev, and P3 was held by Iain Watson. Lap 11 of 14 and this was my one and only opportunity to pass him - he goes wide on the grass. Now to hold on for 3.5 laps (that's c. 50 miles!!!).

21 cars took the standing start, and into T2 the battle from P2 to P6 is as close as can be! Gorgiev is out of shot in front (what a surprise!). Crawford and Watson battle panel to panel for P2. Ferreira P4, Jones P5 under challenge from Graydon P6.

Opening lap, P6 (Assuncao) leads the rest of the field down to Graham Hill Bend (Druids Bend in the background). P7 Glynn Jones has his headlights ablaze as the wet track kicks up spray, making visibility an issue in the traffic.

Entering Paddock Hill Bend (T1), I put my left rear on the grass and straight away the rear kicked out under braking. Somehow I managed to save the slide and continue the battle for P2 with Marcos Junior. Wet track.

Battle for P2. Marcos Junior (61) was 11 seconds ahead when I pitted at end of lap 23. Marcos pitted 4 laps later, and exiting pitlane this is how close it was! I was so surprised that I nearly lost it under braking, saving a 45 degree slide! Wet track.
