Early change of pit strategy to gain me track space meant a rather lonely drive for the most part. Glancing right looking for my pitboard as I head down to Eau Rouge for yet another lap.
Eua Rouge looking back at the start line. Here Ferreira leads Eugeni with me down below passing pitlane - early fight for lower order nGT class (P6 to P8).
Left, right, up, bumping, scraping, bouncing, compression, understeer, oversteer!!! Eau Rouge has the titanium skid-plates working overtime and the driver with his eyeballs on storks as he drives "by the seat of his pants"!
2 of 2. Unfortunately, Hotel Arbor has blocked it's entry to the car park and I completely rip the front of the car to bits, complete with a roll and a puncture! 2nd roll in 2 races in my 'comeback' to GTR2! Not a habit I want to keep:)
1 of 2. Lap 9, 2nd Chicane (Michelin Chicane) - losing it on exit kerbing, I decide to make a reservation at Hotel Arbor whilst trying to control massive oversteer!!!!!
Early battle for P1 in nGT. Into the hairpin (Spitzkehre), Graydon tries as hard as possible to hold off Savoie - great, close, respectful racing with no contact...I left him a car's width, and he tried to take it:). Move completed on exit.
Yes, there was plenty of close racing today!!!!! Left to right, Graydon, Passmore, Dos Santos fighting over P3 in class in the first hour. Unfortunately I would lose out with a half spin as Mike nudged John into me. Sometimes, that's racing.
Formation lap, race to commence exiting La Source hairpin. Mayhem already for Savu and Kniess, as top 3 nGT's of Jackson, Graydon and Pizzolato take avoiding action.
2 stop strategy was against the grain for the top 3, but so nearly paid off for me. 2nd stop here but pit limiter failed, meaning an extra trip in for a stop and go.
2 of 2. And the barrier is where Darren Adams is facing backwards as I plough straight into the front of his car! Ouch on both parts. Big black hole not good for aero! It slowed me but raced hard coping with understeer to gain eventual P6.
1 of 2. P14 at the start and mayhem ahead. Faced with a wall of spinning Porsches I edge right but Mihaila's damaged RSR is clipped and I get airborne, just missing the RSR on the left but heading for the barrier.....
Gaining P9 through Priory as Tkachenko spins, the cars in front would soon pit without slowing me down. I had 100 litres in at start and ran till dry, no tyre change would bring me out in P6!
Through Vale and heading into Club, Virtanen in P7 leads Galloway, Tkachenko and Graydon. Roughly 15 laps to catch them up, big black hole in front of my 360GTC following start line crash.
Brooklands, P11 following start line melee. Just got past Norling and now chasing Tkachenko and Galloway (here in background on main straight). I was 12 seconds behind at end of lap 1.
