Euro FT: Silverstone

I had awful stuttering all the way through that, even though my FPS was in the 50-60 range. I found it really hard to concentrate so I just took it easy and tried to keep on the track. I still had a spin in T1 but managed to keep the lead and come home for the win. I only had to beat Roberto by 4 points to win the championship, and I did that, so I'm happy :D

I need to get this stuttering sorted out quickly though...

Not bad...not good. I was on a pole lap, 4 tenths up on my PB during qualifying and ran out of fuel with a few hundred yards to go. In the race I got an ok start, but I didn't expect to beat Scott. When trying to hold onto him, I spun at the start of lap 2 and rejoined around last. Fought back up to 4th by the end. Was good fun fighting, and given a few more laps I might have had 2nd, but it was one furious battle that was going on in front of me!

Thanks for the setup though, and Scott, went for Dave's in qualifying and could handle it better.

Tremendous battle as you say for podiums, better through corners than Dmitry, he was quicker in a straight line.

Usually when I sneak a race in with no practice I eff up so this was a pleasant surprise and keeps a good little run going.

got a bad start, but _really_ screwed myself by going wide at the exit of T3, dropping a wheel off and not being able to get on the brakes early enough to turn in safely.

let the whole field by and was 20th when i rejoined.

but from there it was a hell of a lot of fun!

had some great racing with several people and got to make a couple of passes, the most memorable of which was around the outside of Nickolay at Copse on lap 10 after a several lap duel, featuring a couple of aborted passes and one that i couldn't make stick. but i got a run on him coming out of Luffield at the end of lap 9 and just had the edge going into Copse. got a bit of oversteer at turn in and was afraid i'd chopped down on him as a result, but it looks like i caught it in time to leave him just enough room to keep it interesting until track-out, where i was able to pull away as a result of having carried more momentum thru the corner.

Hey Tristan, wouldnt it be much easier for you to call in sick one day and race us Euro guys? :P

I had a good start and was up one place after the first lap and gained another place after Ellis span and found myself in 5th after 2 laps. However i never thought i'd be able to keep the place with the fast guys around me and eventually settled back in to my starting position of 7th. My aim for this race was to finish respectably and without incident, and apart from running wide on one corner i didn't make a single mistake! :) Great for me as consistency is a real issue of mine, probably because i often don't practise until race day so i'm happy to be running around the better end of the midfield.

For most of the race i had Jones on my tail and we seemed to be very similar for pace, he was quick in the turns but i had better drive out of them. I can be consistent under pressure, woo!
