[Putting this up nice and early for the newcomers to get familiar with how we race.]
Pre race reminders. For those members old and new to the series, please read and apply in your racing at ARAIG.
Main Chapter Forum - if you aren't familiar with the way we Stock Car race here at R2P, please read through the Must Read Guides; Teamspeak requirements and FAQ's:
Main Chapter Forum
Remember, Teamspeak 3 is a requirement to race. Standard R2P place for Teamspeak - details here if anyone needs them:-
Server IP: 207.179.246.226
Server pass: xenduro
Port: 9987
NEW - I WILL BE CREATING A PASSWORDED TEAMSPEAK ROOM FOR THE EVENT (called ARCA TALLADEGA) - around 1 to 2 hours before the race. The password used will the same as that for the race - this should ensure only those wioth access to the race password can join us on Teamspeak.
There will be a Meeting on TS around 20 minutes BEFORE Qualifying (c. 30 minutes before race start) - just to run through some basics before the fun begins. Can you all please "park it" and listen in at that time.
Pit Entry:-
Under green and caution, off Turn 4/start of main "pit straight" - the solid yellow line turns to yellow 'dashes' as a guide. Practice it at race speed!
Pit Exit:
Under green and under caution, stay to left of the yellow solid line until you pass the checkerboard on the tarmac - then you can join the track onto the remainder of "pit straight " and before T1. Take care when rejoining in front of oncoming traffic.
Remember, if you can't leave your pitbox because there's a car in front - WAIT. No bumping out of the way please.
While on pit road – stay all the way to the RIGHT until you need to enter your pit box. This is to ensure all others on pit lane can see and enter their pit box as well as have space to exit their pit stall safely.
Use of a mapped steering button or keyboard key can also be used for pit road calls (I know some of you don’t have microphones but can listen in on Teamspeak).
BUMP DRAFTING - that means physically pushing someone.
In particular on the turns, simply don't do it UNLESS you've practiced with the other driver and/or they are happy for you to push them (ask them on Teamspeak if it's during the race). Remember, you have a brake pedal to ease out of it into the turns if backing off the accelerator isn't going to slow you down enough. You'll soon get close on the straights again.
When you do bump draft, make initial contact as soft as possible and know what your partner/s is/are doing - low line out of turns, high line out of turns, etc. Communication before the race is key - use Teamspeak during the race to fine tune what has been arranged pre race.
Smoking cars:-
Will be asked to pit and remove tape. Not pitting to fix the issue after a warning will result in you being Disqualified post race.
Leaving the Race:-
If you have to ESCAPE from the race for whatever reason, please do so after moving OFF the track (if at all possible) or preferably stopping at your pit stall.
No live steward:-
Therefore any penalties issued will have to be served. Thanks for your understanding (I want to race).
Other:-
NEW - Pit Lane Speed Limit prior to the Race itself - regardless of Online Session in progress (eg Practice or Happy Hour), the Pit Lane speed limit MUST be attempted to be adhered to at all times.
Remember, at R2P you car livery choice is limited to the original 2008 cars.
Premium Members at R2P have the option of adding their own livery in a Skin Pack. The Skin Pack (click on Files Used tab on Event page to download) is a self installer, just point it at your main ARCA directory, it does the rest. I recommend everyone racing installs it - even if you don't have a skin, you'll be racing against other cars with a different livery from the standard 2008 cars.
