Barbagallo / Wanneroo V8 Supercar '10

Ok race, did what I could but apparently wrong strategy.

Qualy went ok, got the lap time I was expecting. I guess that was worth a 4th or something like that, which was great and with close times I thought I had a chance at least to fight for a podium.

Race starts and on the first laps everyone flew by. Wow! It seems I was the only on intermediate and not soft, I thought I wouldn't make softs last long enough.

Not knowing the mod I didn't know the difference was so big, more than 1,5s behind my qualy time in this tiny circuit was a lot. Later on I did have a chance to get one position back due to soft tyres wearing out but I needed one or two more laps.

Lesson learnt, may the next come.

i guess i did alright considering i only had 10 mins of practice for this track/car. qualified 5th and had no idea what i'll do for the race strategy wise. it was a test race so i decided to be a bit creative and took just enough fuel for 20 laps on the first stint and 13 laps for second stint which included a tyre change. had some great battles with Luiz and Shanell, the former it turns out was on the wrong tyre (that explains your pace Luiz, i knew you qualified ahead of me but I was surprised with your pace, or lack of it rather). Got all the way up to 2nd when I pitted for fuel and fresh rubber on the end of my 20th lap. My heart sank when I rejoined in 5th but I just put my head down and tried to bang in as many quick laps as I can without making a mistake and managed a 55s flat lap and 3rd place. looking forward to future V8 supercars races :)
