Euro FB: Silverstone

OK race in which I managed to stay away from most of the trouble. I like this track layout.

A good race. Got a PB in qualifying, a clean start, and after a wobbly first couple of laps I stretched away from Milan and took the win :-)

I was hoping to wrap up the championship today but Milan did too well! :P

considering how bad i did in practice it was very nice to see a top ten start. then to drive a good race minus 1 spin i ended up 6th. very happy with that but after seeing that if i wouldn't have spun and kept my pace i would have been 4th im a lil sad. but still ill take my 6th and be very happy.

Spun it on lap 1 after getting up to 4th. Came back from 17th after the spin to get 5th so have to be happy.

I wasn't doing top laptimes, but I managed to make 5th place during the race. Right when I was comfortable there and thinking of finishing in that position, I was hit in lap 12 and couldn't control the car, went offtrack and re-entered in 9th place. Finally finished 7th, but I feel I could have done better if it wasn't for that punt.

I hope I have better luck next time, I like this car.

Another solid race for me. Scott is unbeatable everywhere specially on home soil.
I will offer Scott to let me one victory this season like his title celebration present on next round :P.
Otherwiase I will never win an open-wheel race ;)

I'm beginning to discover that rFactor's fuel estimates are awful.

Last week's Megane race looked like it would require a fuel stop, but actually it was so easy to complete the race without pitting, you didn't need to start with a full fuel load. This week, it was the other way round, which meant I started with too little fuel and had to make a splash and dash right at the end, putting me a lap down, and losing two positions. Grrr. Looks like the only way to know what fuel level to use is to do long runs in practice.

Other than that it was a good race. I was slow as sin (is sin slow? or just ugly?), but managed to find folk at the back of the grid who were just as slow. Had an occasional good battle, and had worked my way up from my qualifying position of 17th to 14th, with a good chance of 13th come the end. Then my fuel light came on.

Oh well, that's my run of Top 10s at R2P over... ;)

In every race you should really do a quick fuel run in practice... it only requires 5 laps. If in doubt, use the fuel you used last race and add 10-15L. Garage page fuel calculations should never be trusted!

Agreed Scott, in fact I only do a couple of laps, having watched what was happening during practice, average it out and add in a couple of litres.

Pretty much sorted then.
