What happened to this event?

Server issues at the end. The results shouldn't be effected as, as far as i know, everyone finished. I imagine Tim is having "fun" trying to sort out the positions because of the issue we had. Unofficially, Milan Milicevic won and I was 2nd.

why aren't the results up?

Results are now posted. They are based off the last good lap (lap 20) so what ever positions may have changed on the final lap are not going to be there. The order should be accurate to the completion of lap-20.

Qualified 4th and was begining to find some pace round this track. Start of race moved up to 3rd on the second corner and put in a couple of fast laps to close on 2nd slightly.
Then bang Montagnoli came out of nowhere on the fast chicane and I hit him big time with Sam Moss following me into my rear. Seemed like a weird lag as I saw him on the grass on the inside of the chicane then 2 frames later he was sideways across the track.

After that I had to pit which cost 155secs lol, my race was over so just kept it going. Have to say I was a bit disappointed that there was no sorry after the race. My one consolation was the fastest lap of the race :)

Anyway Gratz to the podium.

7th was OK considering things. Though I would have been 6th seeing Richard really lost his position to me via an error on Lap 21.

Thomas's Lap 1 Turn 1 death defying dive caused carnage, but I got the Drive through for it! Seeing he cut across my nose and that flicked him off me it makes it a "Car behind hit the car ahead" case! When in reality it was his driving that created it all. So that was impressive.

He clearly was not going to be able to slow in time anyway, let alone hold his own 'diving down the inner corner left' track side, so he was going to run too deep and ram Brian just as he did in any case. Flicking off my wing didn't help, but that was his fault anyway and it wasn't going to change things that were unfolding.

From the drive-thru dropping me back to 11th or so (?) I recovered well and made it back to 6th. Except the last lap being removed means my pass into 6th on the last lap was erased. And thus another good bonus for the race! Not.

The whole race event turned pretty much into a debacle by those numerous things that occured. (lag, incidents, lap removed).

I had a good race, starting 3rd, side by side into first corner with Dave Ellis. Me and Dave Robinson once again seemed to be nose to tail, only around lap 3/4 i think we both set identical lap times as it showed up, but looking at the results he beat my time by 1 thousandth to get fastest lap of race! Sadly on lap 5 we was going into ickx chicane, i noticed a green and yellow car on the grass, but then it warped onto the track even though it had a low ping, Dave had no time to make action so hit the car, and i too was so close behind i hit Dave in the rear.

I ended up with abit of steering damage and quite a bent front wing on the right side. I kept going as i knew it would take longer to fix in a pit stop. My lap times dropped down to around 1.10.2's because of the bent wing, and 4th place guy was quickly closing me in. In the final few laps i knew there wasn't much point in trying to hold him off as he caught my up by over half a second in the last section of corners each lap. Then with 2 laps to go, i realized i was running seriously low on fuel. I had 2 litres to go which said it'd only make just 1 lap left. So i stuck it in 6th gear, and for 3/4 of the last lap i was running on 0 fuel... i was thankful to get across the line.

Had a great fight with Thomas most of the race. I span because I was watching my mirrors too much into the hairpin. I thought you would make an overtaking attempt because you were much quicker than me there.

It was a great race, I am sorry that the last lap was not counted because Thomas deserved 5th place after my mistake.

Happy to finish my first race at r2p without causing much trouble :)

Not a lot to tell about the race; I think there is an invisible wall or some sticky thing that holds the car at the inside of Ickx chicane. First I noticed it in my offline practices, if you fall in there no way to get out, but it keeps moving the car along a line between the tire barrier and the inside wall.. I think people that gut stuck in there should've ESC-Retired after a few tries instead of trying to get out..

Unfortunately, I was a backmarker through out the race, and got lapped twice by the leader and 2nd place man. Both these incidents I timed it so that they arrive behind me on a straight. Where I moved out of the way so both of them can get past. I've read the rules and this is the wrong thing to do in r2p. Although it's pretty hard to hold the line and get your braking points right when 2 cars are bearing down and you know they are faster. I wish you could hold out your arm like in GPL :) to show your intentions.. Anyway I will try to hold my line next time if I get lapped but hopefully if I brake early or miss the apex the guy behind me has sufficient space and consentration to avoid it. Unless he makes a move so I can give way.

Qualified 16th out of 22 starters, and that was with my race setup and race fuel. Talking of fuel, no cock-ups this week, as I now use the spotter plugin to ensure I start the race with sufficient fuel.

The race itself was fine for a few laps. I lost a couple of positions at the start, due to my ultra conservative nature, but soon got them back when others went off road ahead of me. However, on Lap 5 I noobed up completely. Coming into the final chicane, I got my line completely wrong, and took way too much curb on the inside of the first part. This launched me into the air, and I landed upside down. Amazingly, after a few seconds, rFactor placed me back the right way up, and I got moving again with no damage! But I was back down in 18th. Sorry to anyone who got caught up in that.

After that it was a fairly lonely drive as I was nowhere near the cars in front of me. But the good thing about road courses is that driving alone on track can still be a challenge, so it was fun.

I'm moving house next week, so that may well be me for Season 6 at R2P. I'll be back, though. :)
