What a race!!

I jumped into the car and could not drive it anywhere near my Euro pace. It felt ok after a short while, but I just could not get the lap times.

Qualifying was even worse! Lousy runs, and then a pit stop to go out again and I ran into numerous incidents which ended the runs. So I was was left 8th on the grid.

I was thinking I could possibly get to about 5th or 6th, but then was punted around on Lap 1 and left stuck to let all cars past before resuming a fair way back of those, in 2nd last place.
Rear wing damage - though that seemed only a minor change.

Along the way having a WEIRD "battle" with the Gregg Mulgrew Ghost Car!! LOL
There one second... gone the next... ahead... behind... alongside... gone...
So that made things tough, and also was often at times when in battles with other cars too!

Then later on a LONG battle to try to catch Ryan, who I could JUST edge closer and closer to - like only by 0.1 sec a lap or so!! So race laps were going to run out to catch him - I ALMOST did. But he did a fantastic job under what must have been fair pressure to make sure he didn't slip up! hehe

And in the last few laps, cars ahead fell aside - running out of fuel it seems!! So what was looking like 6th, then 5th... became 3rd by the finish line!!

Pretty incredible really! LOTS of LUCK!! And some OK driving consistency.

21 lap race, I fuelled for 33... Thank you Chinese track design.

Sheeeeeet, with some help from Tristan at the last minute I was able qualify 3rd on just 1 lap around! Then my game just kept synchronizing and for what reason I don't know.
I tried to race it but was a nightmare, I apologize to all if I screwed their race up. I was ready for a top 3 no problem just felt so right , damn!!

Q was satisfactory. The race started well, no incidents. I just kept plugging away, following CMelton most of the race. Some people had trouble so I moved on up. I was very relaxed and smooth this race, following CM close but suprisingly calm then holding off Peter V for the last 5-6 laps, guess I was in a nice groove. OH yea PV I felt the pressure for a few seconds at a time but I was able to slide back into my trance very quickly.

HAH looking back on this race it was like a dream, it seemed to last only a minute and I just floated through the whole thing with minimal stress or concern.

I should eat a big bologna sandwich and fritos before every race!

I have to thank both Tristan and George Sandman for their insight on how to set a car up for this track. I qualified with my fastest lap to date: 1:02.460

In the race, we all had issues in the first few laps. Tristan spun in the last turn, I got way sideways but caught the car some how, and Kevin also spun. it all got sorted after a few laps. But as the race went on i noticed that my fuel would be cutting it way too close for comfort. tristans must of been closer cause he didn't make it. I had 1 liter left when i finished, yikes.

I would suggest that people use the Spotter Plugin for all rFactor installs. It calculates fuel use of a car continually.
So you can alt-tab to check it, and it also has a fuel calculation page so you can set the race length and it will tell you exactly to the litre how much you will need. Of course add 1 lap for the warmup!

Seeing it runs off the cars true usage, it is accurate for all Mods at any track etc. So you never need to care about the fluffy game fuel calculations again!!

It also has a "% safety" entry you can use to give the calculation some leeway in case. eg 1% safety.
Though I use the pure 0% number and then add 2 litres to cover spins etc that might make you use a bit more in a race.

Come home with 1 litre, or 2, every time guaranteed....

That was fun hehehe. I fueled my car for 26 laps. I get to half way and I see I only have .8 litres left. I did one more lap to see if it wasn't a bug but it wasn't hehehe, fuel usage was terrible. I got to pit lane on fumes. Came out 6th with 4 new tires, and pushed HARD. One extra lap and I could of made a run for 4th(with Tristan's fuel hickup, sorry man). But what an exciting start that was. Tristan starts to pull away and goes wide in the last turn and falls to 3rd, then David makes a mistake and I lead a lap, only to lock the rear tires on a bad down shift in T1. I didn't have anything for you guys anyways. Great job.
