Euro G3: Imola

Couple things that need to be brought up

1) Simply put, when a Steward tells you to do something, you do it. There is no discussion on the matter. If you choose to argue it, the end result will always be you losing the battle against the Steward by being removed from the server.

2) Cutting the track at Imola is a tough one. I do try to be fairly loose with the enforcement here but if I see a driver constantly/regularly cutting, they will get the penalty. Also, if you cut and gain a position because of it, you get the penalty without question.

3) Re-entering the racing surface. Do so in the safest possible manner. I saw a few instances where people came from off-track to re-merge in front of (or beside) traffic. This is not good.

As a result of the items mentioned above, there were a few penalties. 1 Driver was booted all together, and a few others received drive-thru penalties for repeated cuts. Another lost a lap all together for numerous infractions.

What a wonderful race. Lots of cars around you taking away your aero and hitting front and rear. Hey, lets have a Butcher Series for S7. LOL But I scored a point. Yeeee!

Server: "XXX was removed from game."

Absolutely crap race. Nick was a little slow away and I immediately got mugged by a bunch of Vipers. Then got hit up the rear at the top chicane, after which car was not too good. Worst was to come, though, when I tapped Heinz into a spin and ended up parked with him accross my nose. While I waited to get going again, someone hit me hard up the arse, causing puncture and stop for repairs.

Imola is not my favourite track, and I believe more drivers and stewards :p don't like this one either.

Qualified pretty decent, 0,5sec off my PB and 7th, but due to a technicality of someone else I was 6th. Was lucky to have pitbox 1, so got out quickly, let Joco pass because he seemed to be in a hurry ;)

Got a good start (nobody in front of me) and managed to hold off Claudiu quite easily. Decided not to push because tires would start acting up otherwise at the end of the race and first 4 were too quick anyway ;)

No action for half an hour but still pleased with the result in my 4th race, certainly after 3 DNF's :)

Also nice to see such strict but correct stewarding.

Easily the worst race I’ve ever had since playing GTR2.

It started in the qualifying. Even on the out lap I had a viper send me right off into the gravel trap after an outrageous t-bone. There was a straight just coming and it was the out lap.

Qualified as the top 911 driver which I was ok with as the Vipers really are in a class of their own.

I know the Viper is a big beast, but it’s not a Land Rover as many drivers clearly thought it was. Watching some of the driving, more so in qualifying, some cars spent more time on the grass than on the tarmac.

I made a good start and picked off a couple of Vipers quick smart. Then made one of many mistakes. The car felt horrible and uncontrollable, back end kept snapping.

Lost loads of places but made a few up quickly and caught the Ari and Nick Philips battle. Ari was driving very defensively and fairly to keep me behind. This allowed Nick to break free.

I could not even hold the BMW of Ari in a straight line even when I had a run out corner and in the slipstream. I thought the 911 was quicker?

Made a stupid mistake trying to get past Ari and that was it for me.

I kept getting stuck behind Vipers that were far slower than myself. The places the 911 is quicker it’s impossible to pass,you have to wait on the viper losing time, then come to a straight they are gone.

The cars seem a complete mismatch and other than mistakes it’s impossible to pass a viper. A couple ran off the track and made big mistakes, but such is their superior speed they had enough power to gain place back before next corner.

Made a few passes then lost them right away on next straight

Hugely frustrating as even when you are faster you can do nothing about it.

Just kept making mistake after mistake, then Passmore spun in front of me and that was the car damaged as I had nowhere to go,

I don’t get involved with GT3 cars and now I remember why.

Sorry to Tucker for clipping your rear. It was stupidity on my part. I was so frustrated and desperate to get passed. You put the foot down then lifted off after the apex and that caught me out.

Horrible, horrible race. Think I will avoid GT3 now.

I'm not sure what the driver did to get a penalty that he refused to serve. It must have been bad watching what everyone else was doing.

Maybe that's why he did refuse as driving the same as everyone else?

is it me, or those Bmw are very difficult to drive? I have no feeling of what it does or any predictable behaviour!

Not the best of races for me either.
Was hopeful when i managed to qualify 6th but a bad start and being spun out on lap 1 put an end to that. Managed to regain some places and had some good battles before getting spun again. Don't worry about it Brian. I think i was getting a little anxious with you on my rear bumper that i gave it gas too soon and ended up starting to slide so i let off to try and correct it.
Did some more catching up and hunting people down and i think it was me who hit you in the back Pete, wasn't really much i could do, saw you two sat there when it was two late!
But i enjoyed myself even with the furstration =P
Hopefully i can stay out of trouble tomorrow night!

Pretty good race for me in the Z3M, starting mid-field is always nerve-wracking but I just survived the first few turns. Soon I was getting passed by one Viper after another but they were making the odd mistake to let me pass them back occasionally. Had some very close calls with the Viper in front rejoining on the exit of one of the fast chicanes, but just got away with it. Tom Ostry was close behind towards the end and he had me worried but then I think he had a run in with a Viper and I could take it easy for the last couple of laps.
Grats to the podium and to Ari for a great drive in the BMW.

Quali back in 17th ouch !!!

Start was ok, was not involved in any action in the beginning of the race, but witnessed alot of incidents.
Had a few Vipers too close for comfort behind me wanting to get passed so i let them.

I was doing very well to keep up with my teammate darren and was defending against pete for quite some time. I lost 2 positions in the tap from Pete which i may have been able to keep had the incident not happened. But thanks for apology pete, sorry it ended that way though, was a good fight.

My other Teammate John gave me scare toward the end of the race, and had a moment with Brian kerr aswell where we were jossling for position, and he was giving me no room at all next to him, Sorry about flashing my lights, but needed you to know i was there so you would not push me on the grass!

I agree, one of the worst races ever - I think I got hit 5 or 6 times - that's a lot, especially if you get hit by the same driver more than once. I know, I know, hot tempered racing. Once the red mist disapeares out of your eyes, you can get a clearer picture. My impression: Viper drivers knew they were faster than other cars and they wanted to come by. Fast. Even if they went out on the next corner, lol. That's a bad behaviour, plain and simple. I see sometimes that having moderators on board is seen as an excuse for bad driving, especially if you can get away without a warning - it's like sneaking in front of the Police (or Kinder-garden Teacher...). It was not meant to be this way and all you get is another public server. I expect different behaviour from the more aggressive drivers in this race. They know who they are.
I was looking forward to our photo finish, Darren. I'm not sure I could pass without a pushy move or your mistake. Well, now we'll never know as I had my hands full with another Viper insisting in stopping with the help of my rear bumper and - once he got past - getting in my way so I could return a favour. Lol, was funny and sad. No hard feelings (anymore), Viper driver, one learns in every way - I only went off once in all 6 contacts.
