USA EC: Zhuhai

Well done podium, Unlucky Maciej and Steve.

Nahh, only luck I had was good, when others went off ahead of me. Unfortunately my good luck was insufficient to make up for all the mistakes I made!

Had some issues with snap spin in qualifying so I made a couple of changes, and while they fixed that problem they gave me a high speed push which put me off in the final corner several times. As in the Radical race the other night I tried to compensate by moving the brake bias back, but that bit back when I locked the rears into the hairpin and stalled it.

Had some good racing with Jon and Frank along the way. Always a good time to be had in the Elises!

I had a great quali i was able to get under 1.40 which was my personal best but in the race i spun on the first lap while accelerating i guess because my tires were still cold
From that point i was somewhere at the back and i start to gain as many positions as i could i new it that first place is no longer possible but i was pushing till the end I had so much fun i always like to race from the back than at the front so apart of my bad luck on the first lap it was all positive very nice race. Finally i end up on 4 place. Great podium you guys did a very good job!

Heinz, I hope I didn't push you off there on the first lap. I watched the replay and it seemed like you went wide there for a bit - hopefully not because of me. After I got the pass though, you definitely kept me on edge until I found my groove. Good third place finish too. I was practicing with you a couple times that week and you improved a lot!

Maciej, that is unfortunate you had that early spin. You almost beat the lap record for this series on Zhuhai, so I know you probably could have gotten much higher in the standings.

Rob, that early punt was unfortunate. I was hoping to battle with you some to prove our team powa! I'm also glad I was able to contribute with a setup, since I am lagging behind for the team.

Great job!!! Fastest race lap too. I seriously doubt I had a battle for you -- got home late (traffic) and didn't get enough time to try out your setup (which was definitely better than what I had, just needed more time with it). Your lap times were smokin'!! Thanks for help the Team Venom Racing out. Too bad Mark couldn't make it.

Punt was a bummer, but I've had a long stint without one so I should feel pretty happy about that. It was hard to work my way back from dead last to 7th in such a short race, but I still had fun.

Mostly uneventful race for me- slow but consistent. I'm not doing a lot of setup work for these, and I guess it shows. I'm perpetually shocked by just how much faster some of you guys are in the same car :O

Did have minor contact with David at one point, who bobbled in front of me and darted out of sight to the left- I couldn't tell for sure if I was clear, but had to commit to the next left-hander and felt some contact mid-corner. Looked like you kept it straight afterwards, David, my apologies if that was heavy-handed on my part.

Jon, it was a completely clean pass.. I went wide on cold tyres and late braking.. Nice race pace though.. I did well to find the times i did, but thats as good as it was ever going to get. Well done

I don't remember the specific incident michael, but no worries, contact is just racing. I was struggling a lot anyhow, so nothing you did would have changed the fact that I just straight up stunk at that race.
