Euro F3: Bahrain

This was fun. Not a great qualy, I was faster in early afternoon practice, about 3 seconds per lap faster. Oh well. Had positions in the 8 - 10 early in the race because of others going off in the first lap. Eventually I went off, I missed my brake point on the pit straight, the car hit the grey ice and slid into the wall. Pitted. The pit crew did not fix everything like they were supposed to. I came out with something still wrong with my steering - even my wheel was out of center from that hit. I just finished the race. Hopefully tonights race will go better. Oh, in one of my screenshots I mispelled a name - sorry Ryan Hardman (I put Ray Hartman by mistake).

I'm gutted. Very Strong start to the race, and was running 4th. Cars behind were catching me, but then I spun. 10th was where i was running, and catching cars in front. Had a few good battles, and was good fun. Then someone overtook me, and I lost control, and spun off, loosing a wheel. My race was over, and I was in for a good finish. :(

had a ok Q started mid field. ran a good race for the first half and was running in 8th place until the final lap when i spun and then got ran into and my front wing was knocked off. got a lil mad there cause it ruined my top 10 finish.

i quallied 11th, got off to a good start but some one spun and i caught there front wing knocking his and mine off. but to my surprise that didnt do anything to the car infact it made it faster. I eventually got to 7th but but was caught up and eventually ended up 10th lap 12 barry span putting me in 9th and no one was catching up. so all in all a good race and a surprising one to.

Great to see TM doing a race and finishing on poduim....

Fun Race.

There was alot of action. It is kinda fun when your race isn't over because of one mistake. I went off, but a few laps later the guys I was racing went off, so we are at it again. ...And again

I have to say congratulations to everyone. This is a tough car and a tough track, IMHO.

Getting a little practice in for this weekends F1 race.

My car wasn't great, an off-shoot of my Essington setup, but it was OK. Qual'd about where I expected but could have done a little better. On my PB lap in qual I caught Kevin and stupidly attempted to pass him in a very bad spot. I spun and collected Fernando.

Start was superb, passing 3 of the cars ahead of me on the grid and on the start. I was lucky to have gotten to 2nd but knew Dmitry behind would easily pass me when the time came. I pulled a wild move on Massa, I think even banging wheels a bit both we both survived. (I was a little aggressive there Roberto, sorry about that).

The race then transpired as expected Dm got around me easy enough and I ran 3rd to the checkered flag. Still, good practice for the F1 race as I gained a lot of knowledge about the track again.

Not enough practice here for sure, at a tough track in any Mod. I had no time references so 1:59:0 felt good, but I was assuming high 57's by the rocket fast guys.
Oops, it turned out there were even 1:56's and a LOT of other cars in my time range (that I should be 0.5s or more ahead of) so some setup tweaking and driving line improvements were needed! But in 20mins I could only get to 1:58.6 area and I could tell I had a ton of too much wing compared to most others. And about 4 main corner areas I was very slow at. I didn't want to drop any wing without decent testing time so it just had to stay as it was.

Qualled 6th and had a greeat start off the line to pass 2 cars, maybe even the 3rd, but then didn't know where to brake for Turn 1 from a standing start!!
I didn't do too bad at gauging that, but what I didn't allow for was that my car locks its rear brakes first if you are at full brake and pass down under about 40kph!! That doesn't happen anywhere around a lap normally, but did for Turn 1 from the start where I had to try to hold a very tight inside edge line into Turn 1.
Rear wheel lock - one side first...and around we go! DOH!!
Luckily being right to the inner right edge meant most cars were heading left of me anyway!

From there it was just a race to try to get back up as best as I could. Once I got to 6th I could not bridge the gap to Kevin and Roberto ahead. I was working out which corners I was losing a lot of time through and improving them bit by bit, so I gained lap speed bit by bit and edged down to be 0.9sec behind Kevin with about 5 laps to go....but then I speared off a corner and lost over 1sec and must have overheated the front tires as it would not turn well anymore for quite a long while. So I couldn't regain any of the gap for a few laps.

It actually felt like the tires had been still good until that race time, but then instantly stepped over some edge and into notable less grip due to wear maybe. It was a sudden change of grip....though on the last lap I ran a very good lap again.
