Second DNF for me this season... Think I may be nearing my SIM racing retirement.

I hear you Tom... 2nd in a row... And again in my end.. i saw from the ADSL router that it lost the connection to my ISP and soon after it was 'Connection Lost' .

Was good while it last but i sure would like to see the finishline for a change.

Feeling veeeery disapointed atm... and tired :(

great, I really debated weather or not to do this race, but I seemed on a decent pace and turned out I was. Had 2nd place sewn up and machine BSOD'd. :S

3 hours wasted

anyway good racing while it lasted, Pete was quicker but it wasn't by enough for him to get by and I didn't make any mistakes to let him. When he pulled into the pits on lap 31 I let out a big sigh of relief.

anyway that pretty much finishes the season for me.

Finished 4th I think in nGT. Discoed two minutes after finish. Close. :)

Fairly uneventful race. Started with a two stopper but being as slow as I am I noticed eventually that I passed halfway with first set of tyres and gas. Pitted and took new set of med-med tyres and 100 litres. Ended where I ended.

Is the two tyre rule ON or OFF?

DB, what's this BS? There are two races to go and your throwing the towel in? Quitting is not an option, you know. :P

The rule is always in effect and post-race adjustments to the results are standard for infractions.

Race went from decent to bad to worse, so I decided I had about enough.

Tiring and pretty boring race for me. Finished 3rd which is pretty good but I probably should have finished 4th due to Sam's disco :(. I was also very sloppy during the race but ironically, my car was the best handling Corvette that I had in a long while :S

Qual was crap. Never got a good lap in since the tires refused to get a grip. Ended up 5th.

The start of the race was the most interesting part. Sam and Enis battled hard for 3rd and I thought they were going to take each other out because of their aggressive racing. Never did, though, and Sam eventually took the spot with a little bump on the side of Enis's car. Now it was my turn to hound Enis but we were pretty equal for quite a few laps so I just followed him and waited for him to make a mistake. Well, it finally came when he bobbled in that quick right-left combo of turns in sector 3 and ended up in the gravel trap. I spent the rest of the stint trying to chase down Sam, but he was way too fast for me.

The 2nd stint was a lot more boring than the first and a lot more sloppy. Because the car felt so good, I took advantage of it and just slid it around and fortunately, it always stuck. Problem was, I would get carried away with it and get into the grass a bit. I did have a major spin later on when trying to get around Adriano. Going into the last turn, I tried to give him plenty of room but I wasn't paying attention to where I was going. I got up onto the curb to the right and spun out. No harm, no foul, though, and I kept going.

After the 2nd pitstop for the final stint, the car was at its best, but the driver wasn't :P. I was just tired and totally bored and kept flying the car around and while it stuck most of the time, I still mowed the grass a few times :). I had another close call with Adriano, coming out of the 2nd turn. I got under him trying to pass him before the little kink and while watching him from the side of my eye, I saw him jerk the car a little bit to the left after getting on the kurb. I overreacted and sent the car flying straight over the kink, into the grass, and back onto the asphalt which got my car really squirrelly. Fortunately, nothing bad happened but it sure did wake me up for a couple seconds :). After that, I was back to racing the track and the traffic again. I had nobody to battle for position since I was separated by a minute from 2nd and 4th each, so I was essentially by myself the whole time. Boredom and exhaustion got me again with a few minutes left in the race when I went of the track and into the gravel in turn 11. Once again, nothing bad happened to the car but by this time, I really wanted the race to be over and finally brought it home safely in 3rd :).

Was quite an uneventful race for me, but still fun. Time went vwery quick for me and before I knew it, it was time to pit. I like that.

I had closed up the cooling and my water and oil temps were at 215+ and 220+ so ended up short shifting it the entire race and she held together. Spent a lot of time getting the fuel calculation right and I was on the right track, except the ambient temp went up and used a bit more fuel on the second stint. Ended up running out 1\2 lap short. :(

Great sportsmanship here as always and a BIG thanks to Dean Shackelton and Joseph Di Pino for coming around and pushing me out of the sand and across the finish line. I owe you a big one!

P.S. Kent, how the hell do you get those screenshots up so damn quick? You have so much of a lead that you take them during the race? LoL

hehe if you ever noticed they are always of GT cars, because I click off a few during GT qualifying because I think it really looks bad when there are no pics in a post race, makes it look like no one gives a damn.

Okay this race was a bit of an awakening for me. I had practiced the night before and was able to run low to mid 36's pretty easy. I did no qual test's and figured I would just use low fuel and softs. Well after qaul was over and I was sitting 4th on the grid I realized I didn't give this event enough preparation.

The race started and I was able to hang with Darin and Pete pretty easily through the first few laps. That is until my first mistake where I spun out in T2 and fell back to last I think. It took me until about lap 20 to catch back up to Barry who was behind me when I spun. I passed Bob Fay, Tom Rue and Adriano and had a couple more minor offs before I could see Barry ahead. I never got closer then about 1 second to Barry and we battled like that for about 20 laps. Finally I got the better of the traffic as GT's passed and was able to close within 1 second. By now our tires are reaching the end of thier usefullness and Barry lost it in the final turn allowing me to pass.

Now I am 14 seconds behind Darin who is second in class after Pete opted for a 2 stop strategy. I ground Darin lead down to about 10 seconds when he pitted. Turns out I made the mistake of staying aout another 5-6 laps because when I rejoined the gap to Darin was up to 24 seconds. And I had about 23 seconds behind me. I maintained a decent pace the remainder of the race because I figured Pete would be coming with his fresher tires. Well about 20 minutes from the end Darin had his disco and I was gifted 2nd place 45 seconds behind Ari.

I really shouldn't complain since I got second, but my driving in this event was sub par for me and letting Ari beat me by 45 seconds is a bit disheartening. With 2 events left in the season all I can hope for is a DNF from Ari in order to make it a championship. The way Ari is driving I just dont see that happening but I am not giving up, I will be better prepared for Zhuhia and Spa than I was here.
