GTX: Dubai

This one is going to require a lot of reviewing before the results are posted. Give me some time and I will go through the replay of that first lap.

I must say, with all the super-experienced drivers on this grid, it has to be the worst example of how to start a sim-race. I'm not going to pull any punches here, you all have way too much experience under your belts to have had that happen.

and this time Tim .. it wasn;t my fault .. i think :)

started last cause a lambo fuc*ed my qualy
started very slowly .. cause i knew the cars in front wont start that fast .. and didn't want to risk a collision .. but then .. in T1 cars flying everywhere .. i was going off track to avoid hitting cars and got a stop/go .. then mr. radioactive Izotop rejoined the track and hit another car just in front of me . and i couldn't avoid it . lost a wheel .
pitted . but instead of fixing the car first .. i did the penalty .. so another 3 wheeler lap .. lost 2 laps to everybody
other than that .. it was fun ..

Well was a good race all in all,... Had a good strategy and that gave me the win i think. Was 3rd before the pits, but when pits were done with, i was 2nd. Scott was a lot infont, but seem to have a problem with ?tires? or something i dont know, so i could catch him easy and pass him.

I was involved in an incident around lap 5-8 i dont realy know,... with Scott and next turn with Samuel. In the first contact, with Scott i dont think i need to say sry to him, maybe other way around ;). But still could be debated and called a racing incident. Then next turn i must say im very sorry Samuel, totaly my mistake i tried to stay inside too long, didnt wanna let go and hit the back of you... i tried to put you in the right dirrection but your car was already spinned too much :( Sry again.

Wow was lap1 realy that crazy? I was very carefull and didnt get into any problems on that lap. Then had a nice fight with Christi Rus for quite a few laps. Was very clean and hard battle. Till next time cya

I was giving tim and kent hell on TS sayin I had no business in this field with the talent level.

I guess what I should have taken into consideration was the degree to which some of you peoples' egos outweigh good judgement, SOME sense of responsibility and a bit of patience.

Here it is 2 hours later and while the anger is gone ( i mean let's face it, it's a game. ) the disbelief at the lack of judgement on some of you drivers that are considered to be on a higher skill level than many drivers.

I mean seriously.............What were some of you thinking?

I'm not going to drop names. I am CERTAIN Tim will take care of that with the penalties.

All I can say is I considered not running this race because I felt I didn't have the talent to run in this race. After seeing the display some of you put on, I'll no longer consider you a threat to compete with on the track simply because you can't make it to T2 on the first lap with an intact car!

3 hours of practice down the fuckin drain because I wanted to be comfortable on the track and be competitive and what happens? People who started below the top 8 that just CAN'T believe they don't deserve to be in the front of the pack at the start decide to barrel-ass their way to the front.

Some of you need to be ashamed of yourself.

And no, I'm not done. I could go on telling some of you what asses you acted like but I'm getting the feeling it's most likely falling on deaf ears and blind eyes anyways.

Here's a closing thought for some of you....

You think a reason there was such carnage at the start was because with only 20 mins left in practice there were only 10 of the 28 starting cars in the server?

Here's a thought: SHOW UP EARLY AND PRACTICE. Practice with the people you're going to compete with and learn their lines.

Well I don't know what to do , be happy because I avoided this carnage? or getting angry because I get disconnect and now I have another dnf, despite the fact I don't even join on the race grid ??? I can't wait for replay .

That was probably my shortest race ever.
Had a good run towards T1. Unfortunately on turning in my left rearwheel touched the grass, and my backend slipped away. I tried to keep the car under control untill a tap from another car helped me getting straight.
Hit the gas again, but now i was in the middle of the chasing pack. After a few seconds i suddenly saw another Lambo sideways on the track coming towards me. It happened too fast for me to do anything and i crashed into him. Smoke and fire everywhere... The car behind me crashed into me and my car went airborn and i landed on my roof, race over...

hope to have a better one next time.

I was just a helpless victim on lap 1. Couldn't see a car that was stopped in the middle of the track and hit him at about 100 mph. Got way airborne and landed on my roof. The car magically righted itself with all it's body parts intact, although about a second off my usual slow-as-molasses Dubai pace, which was magically remedied at my planned pitstop.

But in defense of my fellow drivers... With all the disconnects, I think there was clearly some connection flakyness. And that could have contributed to the mess. Just a theory. I'm sure Tim will take a careful look at the replay.

Well David I feel for ya, but I was one of those that joined with 10 minutes before Qual AND I had no prep for this event. Regardless, from watching the replay I saw some over aggressive moves into T1, I saw a car slip into the grass and then spin in front of about 10 cars. I did miss how David ended up sideways on the track but I imagine it was a optomistic move on someones part which eventually led to his getting T-Boned ending his race.

My race:
Qual was decent considering the lack of prep and using my 575 setup in the 550...good enough for 6th on the grid and later promoted to 5th due to some unforunate sole getting disco'd at the transistion from Warmup to Race.

Got a decent start squeezing Krueger a little and decided to go up the outside to avoid getting rearended. Saw Scott go off track left and managed to not follow him. Tip-toed through T1 and T2 hearing Krueger somewhere nearby and as I was charging up to T3 with Krue next to me Scott re-entered causing me to back off a little.

As we all headed into the T4-5 complex I got hit with the 1 fps bug (first time ever) and rather than cause another pile up with cars trying to avoid me I pulled off track left. The 1 fps cleared and I rejoined only to have it reappear entering T6 and I drove well off track reaching for the ESC button. I instead cued up Tim on TS and he said "just wait it will clear" which it did and I rejoined in 12th and 8 seconds behind 11th and who knows how far behind the 4th place position I WAS in.

Began charging and soon caught the 10th-11th cars and they both handed me the positions by taking each other out. A lap later the 8th and 9th battle did a similar move handing me 8th. I continued to gain on the 6th-7th battle of I believe Dennis? (Masserati) and Claus. I got by Dennis into the first hairpin, we had some minor contact but I think we would both call it a clean pass.

Now I am behind Claus in his underpowered Lister but with his skill level and my concern of taking us both out it took a few laps to get by cleanly. Now I am about 8 seconds behind Krueger and gaining pretty well on Him. By the time the pit stops came the gap was down to about 4 seconds and we both pitted together and I saw Janko there already.

My service completed about the same time as Kruegers and I exited the pits about 9 seconds behind Janko with 2 seconds clear of Krueger. I drove hard but Janko was too fast for me (suprise?). Then much to my surprise and joy, Cristi exits the pits right in front of me. On his cold tires I was able to make a move into the hairpin but couldn't make it stick as he had position for the next turn. Once his tires go warm he was clearly faster and pulled about a 2 second lead on me. Then I saw he was really losing front grip where it really mattered and I was able to close up to 1/2 second keeping hte pressure on him. He messed up a few times but by then both our cars handling was suspect and he held on for 2nd with me 3rd.

Overall quite pleased with the result after my lap 1 predicament and I drove a pretty decent race.
