Sandown 100k

Did not do my best today. I have been sick for the past two days and was unable to practice until this morning. Maybe i should have stayed out, but have not run in a while so had to get some track time in. Had a incident in t1 with another driver. Bumped him in the rear after he got in front of me on the front straight. Was braking hard, and tried to avoid the tap, but the car actually seemed to make contact before I even got too close. Something about the contact window seems a bit off. I checked the replay, and it appears I was still a bit behind when the car made contact. unfortunately, it snowballed into him making contact with others resulting in a pile up. Sorry fellas, i really tried to keep it off his bumper.

I hung back in the pack throughout the race.

There is just something about these v8 races that puts a smile on my face. I look forward to each race.

Today i knew i was off pace, but just wanted to stay on the track and hope for the best (for me, thats a top 5). As you can see in the pic, Charles was in the middle of a sammy going into T1 lap one. The very next turn we were all the same and i went 4x4'ing..hehe. After that 4 wheeling, curb jumping fun i was in 11th, headed down the back shoot and started picking them off one by one until i ended up 5th.

I sure hope this stays with GTR2 and doesn't move over to rF.

Qual went great and i got Pole...

Race was great, had lots of great fights with Rory and we changed possitions quite a few times... I was slower on twisty parts with my rear wing 4, but when i came to straight i could realy catch up with him. I think that was all there was to our race.. :) Was great stuff all the was and as you see, we finished quite close to each other.

I last lap, i went to grass on t1 exit, i think i spinned by myself, but seems Rory thought he was the one that hit me, so he waited.. Thanks for that, im still not sure if you touched me at all, i dont have the replay. Great fight, i hope for some more of this kind of racing in future V8 events ;)

No problem with that t1 incident, Don. These things just happen. I don't have any regrets because I got my best result so far in here. Though my qual could have been much better because I had huge fps lag so I drove 3 seconds slower lap than my personal best.

Grats to Janko & Rory on their great race. I couldn't quite do my best in quali but it wasn't too bad either, started 4th behind team mate Heinz. On lap 1 i got a better exit out of turn 3 and Heinz let me go ahead into the chicane at the top of the hill. After that the gaps in front and behind grew slowly until I had an off and Heinz caught me again. Pleased with 3rd, couldn't have done any better today.

WAs a good race just chillin behind darren .. Watched everyone fly off into the distance on both sides, front and rear ..Well done podium

Yeah Mark was nice to be in the middle of that sammy. A little exhaust, some rubber and a hint of paint... glad we all came out unscathed. I inadvertently caused you to use your Off Road Racing mod. I checked up a little early into T2 and you probably didn't expect that- saw you get loose going in. But nice recovery on your part to gain 5th.

And keep your trunk monkey away from my car! We're teammates!
