UKFormula Euro G2: Monza

George put a nice lap in to pip me to 3rd on the grid but at the race start he got unlucky being held up by Marko and I got a flyer down the inside of both of them. However, Marko managed to pull a "Hamilton" on me and took me back in the chicane. Then Claus and Marko just disappeared, there was no way I could stick with them. George kept the pressure on but after a few laps I started to open a bit of a gap. At the halfway stage I was amazed to see Marko in the pits, but happily took his 2nd place. After that I just concentrated on getting to the line with my lucky 2nd.
Grats to podium.

I figured i mwould be a little off the pace and decided to run with medium fronts,hard rears and no pitstop.Then two things happened that i never do.
1]At the start there was some confusion and i made up a bunch of places--unheard of.
2]In my excitement,under braking,i realised i was going to punt the car in front at t1.Now,in my wisdom,i flicked the car to the right into the grass.Next thing i know is that it isn't going to stop and just have to hang on as i sail through the chicane,luckily without any contact i think.Stop and go penulty for cutting the track.

Why did I pick med tyres - because my real name is Richard Head thats why!!

I can honestly say that was a most enjoyable race, mainly because I was determined to drive as hard as I could, not make it too easy for the quicker guys (without being naughty) and chase any mother that past me, usually a tend to give in and I did it this time without falling off the track!

Also the standard of driving was very high, from where I was anyway. If only I had started with hard tyres, oh well next time...

My first race with race2play was a nice one, except for the dissapointing result. Qualified in 6th and luckily managed to stay out of the T1 clash an continued in P5. Was not planning to stop so was saving tyres as much as possible. Meanwhile i forgot to look after my splitter ans lost it when hitting the wall! So long for the strategy. All the way back to P15 but didn't change my tyres so I couldn't push till the end unfortunately.

Without my splitter-loss a nice result would have been possible. Still I enjoyed it a lot, racing with 20 drivers on track. I am sure to join more often!

Kennedy crashed hard with a divebomb manoeuvre on me because he spin on italian grass (it seems many like this kind of thing here, happened also in previous Monza races).
I see he did a S&Go for cutting the chicane or for punting me with a divebomb?
Just to know.... so next time i know too, and if i hit someone straight at 90 ° without problems I'll enjoy too.

Disconnection after some laps and L1 on 3 wheels, of course because of the divebomb...so luck was not here.

PS as you can see in the upload picture, i dont' think is fine to a) have a car in that position b) that car rip someone (in this case Me) off.

Well,i wouldn't call it a divebomb,i was just a passenger and from my point of view, i didn't appear to hit anyone[looked like you had gone past].Anyway Roberto,srry it happened and you should know this is not something i do on a regular basis.

Ok,then maybe i should get a penulty for not doing a drive through for the punt,but, as i said,i didn't realise i had hit anyone.

I know you didn't with the intention to crash, but probably your speed + the angle of crash made me spun like on ice and crashed heavily my car.
But i want to know if this, not just the crash yet, but the exit on grass PLUS the crash is something that is sanctionable or not, even if it's not direct punting.
Next time put more BB on front wheels, considering cold tyres+brakes... atleast you'll not spun with rear and won't go on slippery fast grass.

I sent you ane email explaining what happened and if you read my post again,you will see i had taken to the grass to avoid a car in front,wrong option,sure,but sometimes i do make mistakes.
