Euro G2: Magny-Cours

One of my worst ones for a long time.

In qual a guy rejoining the track near the last turn caused me to stuff it up. On my next lap a to-be-discoed lag car was blocking the line in the last turn, another wasted lap.

I gained one place on the first lap. Then I was just trying to follow Milan and Roberto. I pitted near halfway, I hadn't really thought if it's a better choice than not stopping. When I rejoined, I quickly realized that I wasn't gaining nearly enough to move up from my fifth place. My mind started to wander, then I ran wide in the exit of the last turn and smacked the wall, game over.

I cant believe Fastest quali and race lap is in 1m36's ... thats just nasty .. 2 seconds quicker than anyone else ??

Anyway, congrats podium....

In quali i had some 911 crawling on the grass at the back of the circuit .. cant remember the name, he came back on the road and tboned me.. !!!!

Race started well, really hectic aproach and cornering at the hairpin .. lost out to pete, and was just trying to stick with the front pack .. lap 4 my pedal cable came loose and car lost power .. couldnt understand what was going on, didnt want to quit incase it was minor technical issue which it was, founf the problem and rejoined in 8th .. managed to make my 6th back by pitstops, and made one more due to Ari's off

Anyway .. hard race!!

Well, I did my best to throw that away...
Quali was great, lap record, pole, job done.
The race started well, I got out to a 16 second lead in the first 20 minutes, before realising that the 2x tyre wear multiplier was on, so there was no way my soft-med tyres could make it. I pitted and rejoined in 4th, but caught Pete and Roberto at 2.5 seconds a lap, and passed them with 5 minutes to go. It was really quite fun getting through both of them and lots of traffic while trying not to loose time to Milan who was about 3 seconds up the road, but very tense too! Eventually I caught Milan with 2 or 3 laps to go, and got a great run on him out of the last corner. We were door-to-door entering T1 and we made some slight contact, sending Milan into the gravel. From what I can see in the replay, it was probably 50-50 (I ran a bit wide, but then Milan is putting himself in danger just by being on the outside at T1, so both of us could have avoided it). I felt really bad about it because its the 2nd time in 2 nights Milan has lost a podium through contact with me, but tonight I think it was a racing incident. I lost concentration worrying about whether I was in the wrong and had a really poor last 2 laps, but my tyre advantage allowed me to cruise it home for a not-so-well-deserved win.

Well didn't feel comfortable all race really, don't know why?

I had a great race with Staniol! You seemed to be with me most of the race Staniol, one minute behind then next in front and good clean driving too, I enjoyed that.

I cocked up my freakin pit stop! I mustn't have pressed my pit limiter properly, so stop n go for speeding.

Then close to the end someone ran wide into the gravel but turned right back onto the racing line and I could not avoid him!

I knew that (tyre rule X2) my hard-hard combo tyres and 70 liters strategy will ended in struggling in last laps.
After start held 2nd. position and suffer a pressure from Roberto. Scott going expected 1-2 sec. faster and I know he will pitted. After his pit I take the lead with 2 seconds ahead of Roberto who decide to try the same no stop tactics,also like Pete who were near also and I know his Porsche will be better on wormed tyres.
In meantime Scott storming throgh the field with fresh tyres and 2 laps to go he was behind me, lol.
In fast first corner we touched and I go wide into gravel and lose 3 positions, after that I just worked-out last 2 laps and finished race in 4th.

Never really settled,car was unwieldy,frame rate was crap and just struggled all the way.Don't really know why i'm having trouble with fps,but it is just so hard to drive here with around 45fps.

Chris , I have something to ask. Please check who is behind u on straight lines because I stay 4-5 laps after you and I destroy my tyres(no pit strategy) till u finally did a mistake and I pass you . In the last 5 laps I was on ice :( . Last lap was a nightmare . Please don't get me wrong. You defend u'r position so was hard to pay atention to me .

med-med tires and 75 liters, and i thought to have no problem even without stop! No way! Temp on track increased and after 10 min pushing Milan I started taking care of my tires.
Some confusion in traffic and/or who wanted to regain a lap (Tom).
I let easily pass Scott because my tyres would have not last one more lap and his strategy was perfect, so it was better to avoid contacts.
With Pete I tried to close more my lines but at that part of race it was like BMW-iceskating and my spotter became upset because I didn't listen him about worn tyres.Lol.

I'm sorry if I caused you a problem Alexandru. I had been fighting hard with Staniol and I could not tell who it was behind me, there was noway I was going to look back, whenever I do that I fall off the track :)

I tend to rely on the blue flag and it did not show? in fact it did not show several times through the race today, at least not until people were on top of me. It wasn't until you passed me I realized.
