Euro G2: Zhuhai

Disco on the last lap! After making a crap start yet again, getting knocked off on the first lap and then stupidly spinning by myself again on the first lap, I found myself catching up to a couple of cars after about 10 minutes. Then I took turns in going off the track with Conduruta for about 4 laps or so before he eventually spun off, all this while Pete was speeding away in the Morgan that I had almost caught. Then I managed to catch a few Morgans and Moslers and passed Heinz for 10th place on the 2nd last lap - of course, to be disconnected on the last. Damn!

It was great to be able to race some of the great drivers who were racing with slower cars, your car control was awesome. Not really much credit to me to pass you guys on the straights but it felt good anyway :)

Well done to the winner and podium.

OMG what a waste!

Qualed awesome! Half a tenth off previous BMW record, still the Porsche is faster here and Maciej took the pole.

Didn't let off the start well, Ari managed to just take my position. A few fractions of a second later Brian bumped me in the back and you can see what happened on the screenshots... Utter pissed. It first seemed to me like he hit me with 200kmh, the car just flied over. Watching the replay he stept a bit into the side and somehow managed to fully exploit game's collision coding...

Felt way back on 16th! Worked my way on, it was fun, I apologise to Dejan for nudging him abit but he didn't leave enough room... Soon came close to Roberto, Pete and Heinz in the oddballs and had no problems overtaking them. I was than about 25 seconds behind the leader. Was slowly closing up to Geroge but it wasn't enough though. In the end the difference between me and Ari was 13 seconds which tells me alot! Should've won after Maciej DNFing!

Very very pissed! It's just a suck, having 2 races in this series, starting 1st(in Oscher) and 2nd, but finishing where I would never expect to...

I really hope I'll have better luck next time..........

First of all massive sorry to Joco Gorenc. I misjudged first corner badly. I was unsighted and braked early then let go as the cars came shooting behind me, everyone ahead managed to stop really quickly.

Sorry about the contact but it was nowhere near as had as flying up in the air like that!

I probably could have made the corner but drove off and was going to escape, but decided against it.

I managed to join safely as all the cars were going very slowly and soon I was up to speed. No sooner was I up to speed I was pushed off the track unfairly.

I was last by a mile and with a stop and go to serve well out of it.

Served my stop and go and by accident changed the rear tyres to SOFT compound. I did not mean to do it but they lasted a few laps and tyre temps were too high, tyre pressure was to high and and I was sick of hearing tyres worn warning.

I had to step on the throttle like a razor blade and car felt awful.

Very poor race for me and feel so guilty about the first lap.

Sorry again to Joco, I can't apologise enough.

My quali in 7th wasn't that good but I managed to stay out of trouble in T1 and found myself in 4th shortly after. I never had a real chance of giving Craig a hard time and the gap to 5th increased a bit every lap. That changed when Joco had worked his way through the field. After Maciej's DNF I was in 3rd and was able to just keep Joco behind me when we crossed the finishline. I'll take a 3rd anytime on grids that are becoming stronger and stronger every day here at R2P.

In QUali my car was awsome to drive i got a pole with a nice lap time. In the race was a different story i was way of te pace i did in quali and my car was very understeer despite that i was able to pull away from Ari who was pushing like a hell at the begining. Almost at the end of the race i guess i fall asleep in my car and went off the track Ari came close to me and we have small fight but still i was able to keep the lead. I start to pull away again and then suddenly 6 min to the end my engine just turned off the race was over. Very dissapointed result as i had a big chance to win this race. For some reason Gtr is very unlucky for me. Congr to Ari and all the podiums!

Quali was a struggle. Then I thought I had a good start and a clear path in front of me, but that path was suddenly blocked by a spinning Morgan, damaged 2 secs into the race and my job just got a whole lot harder. Team mate John was put into the wall at the same time, effectively ending his race. Had alot of defending to do throughout the race. Barry made a nice pass in his Porsche but I caught back up when he was blocked by cars battling ahead, I got into his draft and when I braked my car went into a spin, no stopping the car and I tagged Barry's back end, very sorry for my mistake there Barry.
Grats to podium.

I have so many mixed feelings about this race... mainly about how the difference in car performance was for restricted/non restricted.

My qualy was bad, couldnt get close to my PB. First start for a LONG long time so far down the field.

I had a blinder of a start, shot past a slow to react to green lights Cladiu, then noticed Pete spin out and cause a little havoc on the grid. I also had some nice breathing space down to the run into T1 and noticed armageddon again.. tip toed through and from 15th to 6th.. sweet.

Now i just had to prepare for charging Bm's and 911's ..

now being civil i knew who was faster than me and who i could have a race with.. those that were faster i let passed without a fight, I got knocked off the track once but the driver kindly gave me the place back but almost lost out to roberto who was right at the action aswell, i kept track possition luckily.... still lost out to him and then Roberto eventually got passed me due to my own driver error and my tyres were just getting worse and worse to have any kind of chance to race roberto or defend against Pete.. Now i must admit pete, i was VERY suprised you dove up the inside like that, i didnt see it coming and when i commited to apex there was a car there.. Wow, heart stopped and was small collision.. Wasnt very happy it felt like a divebomb to me ..

Another driver had the audacity to flash at me and keep his lights on like he deserved to be infront of me, even though it was a race for position.. screw that .. get passed me with a decent passing move like everyone else and you can have your position.

Season is getting tough all round. Getting mentally tiring

Heinz, it was a divebomb and I'm sorry about that. I just plain forgot that the Mosler can't match the Morgan on the brakes! Not my usual style.
Start was good...for a couple of yards, then I realised the car in front hadn't moved. The swift avoiding action gave me a wicked tank-slapper that took me right accross the track. Sheesh!
Got thru the T1 carnage OK and chased Roberto for 7th or 8th, so I'd recovered all that was lost off the start - until I dropped a wheel off at T1 and spun all by myself. Hit the wall on the inside and had to watch as just about the whole field went by before I could get going again.
Had fun after that playing catch-up :)

Jeeez, that was not my intention, don't be so high strung! I switched my lights on so you could see where my car is and I found it very helpful when you did the same. I read it here, some other guys do it too. The last thing I wanted to do is knock another driver out. ANY driver.

I find the community here very touchy, everybody thinks that every action is aimed at himself. Almost like "How do YOU dare to overtake ME?!". Let me tell you the way I was thinking: "Look, there's Heinz! He's slower, he didn't change the tyres like I did. Go, go, go! Here we are, I've never been so close to overtake him! Careful! Don't make a contact! Damn! He got that exit right, I don't think I can close enough to make a pass at braking. No, better wait for next turn. There, ok, I'm close, stick to it. Corner comes, I'm beside, ok. Switch the lights on, so he won't turn into me. Ok, her we go, clean pass. Lights off."

Or would you prefer me saying:"You were just another slower driver to me."
