USA nGT: Nurburg

Well....
That was a fun race, even though I ended up way at the back in the end. Had a good time moving through traffic pretty uneventfully, except when i divebombed george Pol....Sorry George;(.

Had a pretty good set and was in the mid 101's by the end of practice. Ended up in the sand just at the end of my first stint while making my way towards 13th or 12th I think. And crap...ended up speeding in pit lane and had to do the damn drive through. That sucked, but this track is a blast.

Otherwise a pretty clean race. Good driving fellas. Congrats poles.

Hmmm ... me in top-5 at nGT before this race. Thought that would only happen when X-mas and Easter were on the same day. :-) So during quali I had to switch cars (thx for the call Tim) but couldn't get a lap in. I was in 14th halfway lap 1 but then started to make some mistakes which threw me back again. But it was fun outthere. Don ... no biggy, what happend there was nothing by the move Daniel made in lap 2 or so. Damn Daniel ... you scared the living daylights out of me. And that at 5 AM local time. :-)

Qualy:
I faired about the best I could with the quality of gentlemen in front of me. I was slowed quite a bit by folks who just had to get around me on the out lap and were slower than me on the qualy runs. Just racing.
Race:
I never expected to keep up with the top 5 and that held true for the first part of the race. They slowly left me and had about a 5.5s lead on me when they pitted. Now I'm starting to feel a bit better about my pace. I still have 6 laps of fuel left in the tank! I had a very short pit stop and came out ahead of Samuel in 2nd. Kent had already checked out. I fought off Samuel for quite a few laps. He got me sideways in the final hairpin trying to get a run on me down the straight. I drifted and kept going. We had a great battle going. He spun me in the same corner a few laps later and let me back by. He was trying to get me going down the hill into the bottom hairpin. He tried a couple of times and finally succeeded in getting beside me on the last lap! We ran door to door up the hill into the S curve and he got me into the left hander. WHAT THE HELL! Fish was right behind him! I went from 2nd to 4th in one corner on the last lap. The three of us fought it out all the way to the line. Fantastic racing! That's what it's all about!

I got a good start, and ran as high as 9th after qualifying poorly. I had some good racing, but then I had some bad luck. A car fishtailed in front of me and crossed the track just as I was taking evasive action. Couldn't avoid him. Big hit! My car was a second or two slower after that. Then I had a damn screen freeze on the very last lap and spun. Really pissed me off. LOL Fell into the clutches of Pol and Inkman after that.

Well my racing was going pretty well at the start until a lightning strike outside made my wheel go goofy for a second, sending me into the wall. The rest of the race i was just trying to make up spots. Aubrey sorry about the contact in the last chicane. Congrats to the podium.

Fantastic race. Should have had the victory ( can you imagine that? I was ACTUALLY in a position to give Kent a run for his money in the final stint!) when I went into the pits DOH!!! There's another CAR IN MY STALL!! ROFL...

Came out 9th.

After pitstops cycled through, I was up to 4th. 29 SECONDS DOWN!!! to 3rd. I started driving her like I stole her. Set fast lap of the race with 1:58.6 in my attempts to reel in Krue and Garrett.

The last lap between the 3 of us was battle for the ages. Garrett and Krue was side by side for most of the 1st sector. I was able to gain over a second by the time we left the Mercedes complex. Going into the 2nd sector, it was obvious Garrett's and Krue's tires were shot. I was able to REALLY out brake Krue into Dunlop. He stayed in the brakes a little longer to set up and early apex turn and exit. he threw a FANTASTIC block on my pass attempt. Garrett had gone wide and had to breathe the throttle allowing Krue to pass him! Up into Schumacher, it was Garrett and Krue side by side with me RIGHT behind waiting to see who blinked. Krue got the better end of the turn sequence. Garret was bogging BADLY up the hill. I was able to get inside him for a (relatively, LOLOL) clean pass and set my sites on Krue. Going into The final chicane I tried an inside, late braking pass. Krue having NOTHING to do with that kept his line. We rubbed quarter panels and entered Coca Cola nose to tail. LITERALLY! I gave him a skosh of the chrome horn but it was to no avail. He stayed in the throttle and was able to out run me to the checkers.

I am a little bummed my name isn't at the top but considering the company i'll take a podium like that ANYDAY!!

Truly one of the most fun races I've run yet.

Challenging track, but allot of fun. Decided on driving the 360 and had some fun out there for sure. I was a little of the lap times but had a few good laps with a couple of the drivers and that makes it all worth while. 1st race in a NGT and racing at this track in about a year and it was a blast. Looking forward to the next round.

Qualy, well on my out lap I decided to create room then somebody decides on their out lap they are going to race and loops it going into the last chicane, creating a 3-car pile up taking my left front on trying to avoid it. I managed to limp to the pits and get a couple of good laps in for a 7th on the grid.

Race, Started very bad, never seen the lights, maybe somebody should change the bulbs, I got thru lap 1 unscathed and continued my hunt, although the porsche is new to me i finally felt all warm and comfy after 5 laps, I continued on my hunt hounding P6 for a few more until he had a bobble and awarded me 6th, drove as well as possible up to 4th until my pit, took on the critical and on my way I went, unfortunately I was never able to get heat back into the tires after lap 17, so I continued chipping away at laps until a the same a Porsche decides to try and pass me aggressively by driving into the back of me on T11, thankfully I had broke enough to keep my car on track, I am not sure who it was but he wasn't on my same lap. Took home 6th with a field like this one is...Il take it any day.
